Timely capital support to help customers recover and develop the economy
After many years of sticking to the sea and choosing grouper farming as a livelihood, Mr. Lay Van Dan's business in Van Don, Quang Ninh witnessed the severe devastation of Typhoon Yagi for the first time. Before the storm, Mr. Dan's family owned 290 fish rafts with about 150 tons of fish, estimated to be worth up to 30 billion VND. Recalling the time when the storm hit, Mr. Dan emotionally shared: "When the storm hit, 100 of my family's rafts were sunk and drifted away by the waves, about 50 tons of fish died, with an estimated total loss of 13 billion VND. Difficulties piled up when after the storm, the selling price of grouper dropped sharply to only 90,000 to 100,000 VND/kg - half of what it was before, leading to difficulty in liquidating inventory, affecting working capital and business operations."
Not only promptly visiting and understanding the difficulties of customers, VietinBank Dong Quang Ninh also consulted and supported solutions for Mr. Dan's aquaculture household through a loan package with a 2% interest rate reduction, increasing the loan limit from 8 billion to 10 billion VND. This has helped Mr. Dan supplement capital for business. Expressing his gratitude for VietinBank's timely support, Mr. Dan said: "During the difficult and confusing time, we were visited, encouraged and given an effective support plan by VietinBank to help supplement capital to import fish feed (fish bran + bait fish ), continuing to maintain business activities. Up to now, the basic price has basically stabilized (220,000 VND/kg of fish). It is expected that during the recent Lunar New Year, my family will sell about 10 tons, earning 2 billion VND. This achievement is thanks to the great efforts of VietinBank".

Owning 20 hectares of oyster farming, Mr. Tran Van Thien's family (Van Don, Quang Ninh) was also heavily affected by storm Yagi. Recalling that period of crisis, Mr. Thien could not hide his emotions: "My family lost everything. The total damage to both property and rafts with products ready to be harvested is estimated at over 5 billion VND."

The timely presence of VietinBank was like a "lifesaver" for Mr. Thien's family at that time. "My family was very lucky to receive advice and support from staff at VietinBank Dong Quang Ninh and VietinBank Van Don to overcome the consequences of the storm. I was able to borrow 1.5 billion VND from VietinBank under the preferential economic recovery support program after the storm. VietinBank's procedures were very quick. Although the damage was extremely severe, the support of VietinBank was a support for both me and the people in the area to feel secure in developing production and recovering the economy," Mr. Thien added.

VietinBank promptly disbursed 16.5 billion VND with a low interest rate of only 4.7%".
