Vietnam - Cuba promote economic cooperation worthy of political relations

Attending the forum were prestigious, capable and experienced businesses in the fields of agriculture, food, seafood, energy, industry, construction, real estate, tourism, trade, aviation and other fields in which Cuba is interested in attracting foreign investment. At the forum, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Co-Chairman of the Cuba - Vietnam Intergovernmental Committee Ricardo Cabrisas, highly appreciated the two countries' organization of the forum within the framework of the official visit to Cuba by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the potential for cooperation in all fields between the two countries is enormous, and called on all businesses of the two countries to continue to seek new business opportunities and ways to realize the goal. According to the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to unite, cooperate and share with each other to introduce to the people of the two countries the elevation of economic and trade relations worthy of the traditional historical relationship, solidarity and friendship. Speaking at the forum, Minister of Construction, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, stated that over the past time, the friendship, solidarity and special cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba have continuously developed and expanded in all fields, achieving many encouraging results. In particular, trade and investment cooperation plays an important role, contributing to promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Cuban Prime Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement between businesses and localities of the two countries.

Leaders of ministries, sectors of the two countries and enterprises also discussed the potential for cooperation in areas of interest, thereby updating important information, better understanding Cuba's preferential trade policies and foreign investment attraction mechanisms, priority areas and list of potential projects, as a basis for research, trade promotion and new investment projects in Cuba. At the forum, Cuban Prime Minister, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and delegates witnessed the signing ceremony and exchange of cooperation agreements between enterprises of the two countries in the fields of electricity, oil and gas, construction materials and aviation. Also in the morning of the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Cuban National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez attended and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Suchel - TBV joint venture detergent factory and the solar power plant of Thai Binh Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company; attended the groundbreaking ceremony of phase II of Vimariel Industrial Park of Viglacera Corporation; Visit the Cuban Center for Biotechnology and Genetics (CIGB).

At the ceremony, General Director of Suchel Detergent Factory - TBV Nguyen Lam Dien and Ms. Isabel Matinez Ramires, Deputy General Director of the factory, symbolically presented 24 tons of detergent to support the health system of Artemisa province (Cuba). Delegates attending the inauguration ceremony also watched the live presentation of 5 kWh solar panels to Mariel Orlando Santana General Hospital via the screen and the inauguration ceremony of the Solar Park. Leaders of Binh Duong province and Artemisa province signed and exchanged a letter of intent on developing cooperation between the two localities. Leaders of Binh Duong province presented Artemisa province with 50 tons of rice.
