Barefoot athlete Pham Thi Binh successfully defended her title as 'queen' of the Da Nang marathon.

The 12th edition of the Da Nang International Marathon saw athlete Pham Thi Binh, nicknamed the 'barefoot queen', successfully defend her number 1 position in the women's category.

On March 23, the Da Nang International Marathon attracted nearly 7,000 athletes from 72 countries to compete. Starting and finishing at the East Sea Park, the athletes together conquered beautiful running routes along the Da Nang coast, the city center, the Han River...

As a result, young athlete Huynh Anh Khoi won the men's 42 km distance with a time of 2 hours 33 minutes 55 seconds, improving his own achievement at the 2024 Da Nang International Marathon (2 hours 37 minutes 14 seconds).

Runner-up was athlete Yujiro Daidoji (Japan) with a time of 2 hours 34 minutes 29 seconds, athlete Le Tan Hi came in third.

The Da Nang International Marathon witnessed a dramatic competition between two athletes Huynh Anh Khoi and Yujiro Daidoji. Previously, in the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Marathon, Yujiro Daidoji surpassed Khoi by 17 seconds, however, in the race in Da Nang City, Khoi surpassed and won by 34 seconds.

In the women's category, former SEA Games athlete Pham Thi Binh, nicknamed "barefoot queen", continued to successfully defend her 42km women's championship title with a time of 3 hours 1 minute 57 seconds, surpassing her own record in 2024 (3 hours 10 minutes 32 seconds). The next positions belonged to Le Thi Ha (3 hours 2 minutes 37 seconds) and Nguyen Thi Tra Giang (3 hours 2 minutes 51 seconds).

In the 21 km distance, the championship belonged to athlete Trieu Thi Binh (female) and athlete from Malaysia Govendarajoo Vimal (male).

In the 5km distance, the first athletes to finish were Nguyen Van Khang (male) and Ly Mui Sau (female).
