Youth behavior culture

The issue of youth behavior is never old. Because, there are still many young people with offensive and deviant behaviors...

Currently, besides young people who live with ideals, responsibility, and positive behavior, there are still some young people who still behave uncivilized, such as: swearing, cursing, uncivilized actions in public; not lining up when arriving late... Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (Long Xuyen City) said that during rush hours, she often sees young people participating in traffic but not driving in the correct lane. Whenever there is an empty space, they encroach on it, and speed and overtake regardless of the red traffic light. When going to the supermarket, convenience stores or crossing the ferry, she often sees young people "even though they come later, they still want to arrive first". Or many young men and women go to a coffee shop and calmly put their feet on the table, despite the unpleasant looks of people around them... "Stories about cultural behavior are not strange to young people and have damaged the image of young people today" - Ms. Tuyen shared.

According to Mr. Le Van Hau (Chau Phu district), he has encountered many times in crowded places, many young people are rude to adults, do not know how to thank when helped or apologize when they are wrong. In addition, many young people race, weave in and out; vandalize, deface public works... There are even cases where children curse their parents; it is not uncommon for them to be ready to use violence to resolve conflicts...

There are still many young people who behave "inappropriately". Especially when social networks develop, many young people choose to "live virtually", make shocking statements, and use offensive images to express themselves. Ms. Tran Thi Kim Yen, whose daughter is in grade 9 (residing in Long Xuyen City), shared: "In online conversations of young people today, they often use inappropriate words. When given feedback about inappropriate words in communication, they just say "yes" to let it go, without accepting or adjusting". Friend Nguyen Hoang Phuc (residing in Long Xuyen City) shared: "Modern, dynamic, accepting new things very quickly, very well are easily recognizable characteristics of young people. However, it is sad that there are still many people who lack awareness in real life and in cyberspace". Ms. Le Ngoc Bich (Long Xuyen City) shared: “My company has a student who came to intern. When she texted asking for leave, I read it and tried to think about it to understand the abbreviations and symbols. Reading the message, I was very upset and felt disrespected. I know she did not mean to upset me, it was just because she used too much “internet” language to communicate, and then got used to using it in all situations”. Ms. Pham Thi Thu Cuc (Long Xuyen City) shared: “Currently in families, parents only care about making money, so they rarely communicate and care about their children's education and entertainment. As a result, some young people learn bad habits and freely behave without following any standards”.

Young people are the mainstay and successor of the country. Communication and behavior among young people demonstrate their awareness and consciousness of ethics, culture and tradition. Poor communication and behavior demonstrate poor culture and ethics and vice versa. Generations that control the future and destiny of the country have cultural and ethical shortcomings that will greatly impact the future of the family, society and country. To ensure standards of cultural behavior, limit violence and law violations among young people, families need to pay more attention to their children. Because the family is an important environment for forming, nurturing and educating human personality, preserving and promoting good traditional culture, and fighting against social evils. Especially in the context of integration, the influence of social evils, foreign culture, digital technology, social networks... has loosened the relationship between family members, eroded good family traditions, and degraded morality and lifestyle.

More than ever, each family member needs to be a role model, guiding by actions and words, educating morality and lifestyle, helping young people understand morality, harmony and love each other. Grandparents and parents live as role models, taking care of and teaching their children and grandchildren to become useful people for society...
