According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, in January 2025, the province's socio-economic situation continued to achieve many positive results. Agricultural production continued to be well organized. Industrial production, trade, services, tourism, and exports continued to grow; state budget revenue exceeded the assigned estimate. Total state budget revenue in the month is estimated at VND 1,361 billion, reaching 19.82% of the annual estimate, up 6.02% over the same period in 2024. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the month is estimated at VND 6,989 billion, up 15.77% over December 2024 and up 35.93% over the same period in 2024. The province's total export turnover in the month is estimated at 108.4 million USD, up 20.34% over the same period in 2024. The number of guests staying in the month is estimated at 191.7 thousand, up 8.22% over December 2024 and up 54.48% over the same period in 2024. Policies for people with meritorious services, social protection, social security, employment, education - training, culture, health care People continue to be cared for and implemented effectively. Information and communication work and administrative reform continue to be maintained and implemented well. The work of building a project to rearrange and streamline the organizational apparatus in the area is being promoted. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested local departments and branches, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to effectively implement the tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2025 of the province as specifically stated in the Directives and Resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Seriously grasp and focus on implementing tasks and solutions to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025 right from the beginning of the year according to the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Directive No. 01/CT-UBND dated January 23, 2025; strengthen inspection, supervision, urging, and handling of difficulties in the implementation and disbursement of public investment capital, especially projects under the 3 National Target Programs, important works and projects with spillover effects to create development momentum for sectors, fields and the province.

Seriously and promptly implement the work program of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee. Urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee on the contents to be submitted to the People's Council at the 6th thematic session. Resolutely and effectively implement the work of rearranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus in Vinh Long province to ensure efficiency and progress according to regulations. Urgently complete and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation the Decisions regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational apparatus of the provincial departments, branches and sectors after rearranging and streamlining.

Continue to accelerate the progress of the General Inventory of Public Assets at agencies, organizations and units; the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households and ethnic minority households facing housing difficulties in the province. Closely monitor the progress of budget collection; strengthen revenue management, promote the implementation of solutions to prevent revenue loss, ensure correct, sufficient and effective collection according to regulations; at the same time, implement savings in regular expenditures.

At the same time, it is necessary to closely monitor weather developments to direct and guide farmers on appropriate production plans, completing the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice and color production plan. Strengthen inspection and closely monitor the disease situation on crops and livestock; proactively develop plans to prevent and combat natural disasters, especially drought, saltwater intrusion, riverbank erosion, etc.

Grasp the market situation, supply and demand of goods, especially essential goods, have solutions to regulate production, boost circulation, and promote growth from the beginning of 2025. Continue to promote trade, connect trade to link and consume domestic and foreign goods; ensure supply of gasoline, raw materials for the market; ensure adequate supply of electricity for production and people's daily life.

In addition, it is necessary to continue to strengthen state management of the environment, resources, and minerals, especially land use planning, land allocation, land lease, and land use conversion; strictly and promptly handle violations. Continue to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to extend and re-issue sand mining licenses in accordance with regulations to supply projects using state capital in the province. Conduct reviews, inspections, and strictly handle production facilities that cause environmental pollution. Continue to speed up the progress of drafting documents implementing the Land Law and digitizing land data under the direction of the Prime Minister; effectively implement policies to develop social housing and low-income housing projects in the province; strengthen the management of construction quality in the province; ensure capacity, quality, safety of goods and passenger transportation, fare management, and traffic safety and order after Tet; Urgently carry out planning procedures for the Mekong Delta Agricultural Museum project; continue to speed up the implementation of projects managed by the industry, especially ODA projects.

Monitor and promptly grasp the labor market, labor situation, and employment after Tet holiday, have solutions to support businesses to overcome labor shortages, and meet human resource needs for production. Effectively implement poverty reduction policies, preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions, ensure social security; strengthen measures to prevent and control infectious diseases at risk of outbreaks in winter and spring, especially respiratory diseases, seasonal flu, measles; direct medical facilities to improve admission and treatment capacity, ensure adequate human resources, drugs, equipment, medical supplies, and be ready to respond to treatment and emergency work; review, maintain, and increase the vaccination rate of vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program. Continue to effectively implement the Pilot Project on family medicine activities for the period 2024-2026 in Vinh Long province and the 115 Emergency Center under Vinh Long General Hospital.

Continue to promote and advertise tourism. Focus on promoting key tasks in the locality. Implement well the training and competition plans of sports teams; focus on implementing the 2024-2025 school year plan, organize activities to support students to return to school after Tet holiday; coordinate with local health facilities to monitor and implement disease prevention measures, ensure hygiene and food safety in schools; propagate and mobilize students to learn and strictly comply with the law on traffic order and safety.

At the same time, it is necessary to focus on implementing information and propaganda work well, creating consensus and trust among the people. Continue to fight against bad and toxic information, wrong views, and distorted arguments of hostile forces on the Internet; promote digital transformation, build e-government, and e-transactions; urgently complete the digitization of civil status data in the province within the prescribed time; urgently appraise draft decisions on functions and tasks of agencies and units after reorganization and streamlining; strengthen the maintenance of political security, social order and safety in the locality; ensure the regime of command, combat, and on-duty to promptly resolve any unexpected situations.
