Top priority is developing digital infrastructure

Attending the workshop were comrade Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Digital Society, Ministry of Information and Communications; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts and cities; People's Committees of communes, wards and towns; corporations, general companies; enterprises inside and outside the province.

Digital transformation is a comprehensive transformation from real space to digital space, allowing all activities to be brought to digital space. To develop the digital economy, there must be digital infrastructure (hard infrastructure and soft infrastructure). In Tuyen Quang province, digital transformation is always a top priority. By 2022, Tuyen Quang province's digital transformation will rank 48/63 provinces and cities, up 10 places compared to 2021 (of which, digital government will rank 47/63, digital economy will rank 54/63 and digital society will rank 19/63).

According to data released by the General Statistics Office, the estimated growth rate of the digital economy in the GRDP of Tuyen Quang province in 2023 is 6.19% (up 0.17% compared to 2022, up 0.35% compared to 2021). The province's digital transformation index increased year after year, but is still at a low level.

Recognizing the role and importance of digital transformation in socio-economic development and the opportunity for Tuyen Quang province to make a breakthrough, Resolution No. 48-NQ/TU dated November 15, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee (17th term) on digital transformation of Tuyen Quang province by 2025, with a vision to 2030, has set a target that by 2025, the digital economy will account for about 20% and by 2030, the digital economy will account for about 30% of the province's gross domestic product (GRDP); gradually improve Tuyen Quang's ranking on the annual Digital Transformation Index (DTI) Ranking; strive for Tuyen Quang to be one of the fairly ranked provinces by 2025, and to be in the leading group in the Northern mountainous region by 2030.

Delegates participated in a dialogue between the leaders of the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee and delegates attending the Workshop.

At the workshop, delegates focused on analyzing and sharing good practices and creative models in the process of strengthening digital infrastructure and innovating digital applications to promote digital economic development in the province. They evaluated the achieved results and found out the causes of difficulties and limitations in the current digital transformation process of the province and the difficulties and obstacles in the digital transformation process in enterprises. At the same time, delegates proposed solutions to implement digital transformation for each area of ​​infrastructure, economy, digital society, etc.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Hoang Viet Phuong affirmed: Based on the experience of developing digital infrastructure and applying digital in developing the digital economy that has been and is being implemented, the province focuses on overcoming difficulties and obstacles to implement the goals set out in the digital infrastructure and digital economy strategy to 2025 and orientation to 2030.

Accordingly, the province will focus on early promulgation of the plan to implement the Digital Infrastructure Strategy until 2025 and orientation to 2030, as a basis for implementing tasks and solutions to strengthen the development of the province's digital infrastructure (including broadband telecommunications infrastructure, data center and cloud computing infrastructure, digital technology infrastructure, digital platforms of infrastructure nature) broadband, ultra-wide, universal, green, safe, sustainable, open, meeting the socio-economic development requirements of the province.

At the same time, the province continues to prioritize the completion of digital infrastructure to serve digital transformation, meeting practical requirements; promoting communication, improving digital skills, innovating digital applications to develop the digital economy of the province in general and localities in particular.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Phuong emphasized that Tuyen Quang province hopes to continue to receive attention, support and companionship from the Ministry of Information and Communications, enterprises inside and outside the province to provide digital platforms, digital applications, digital solutions so that the province can make a breakthrough in digital transformation as well as achieve the goals set out in Resolution No. 48-NQ/TU dated November 15, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (term XVII) on digital transformation of Tuyen Quang province by 2025, with a vision to 2030 and effectively implement the goals set by the Government in the Strategy on digital infrastructure, digital economic development by 2025 and with a vision to 2030 (Decision: No. 411/QD-TTg dated March 31, 2022, No. 1132/QD-TTg dated October 9, 2024).
