High technology applications in production

Identifying the application of high technology in agricultural production as an effective solution to increase product value and income for people, on April 29, 2021, the Thanh Thuy District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 09-NQ/HU on agricultural development towards high-tech commodity production in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 (Resolution 09). Since then, many commodity production models with high economic efficiency have emerged in the district.

Applying technology to production, packaging, and finishing the product of tea bags of Maika Food Company Limited (Xuan Loc commune) contributes to increasing the quality and value of the product.

With the motto of maximizing the potential, advantages, land and soil resources, ensuring synchronization, unity, linking agricultural development with tourism, services and new rural construction, Thanh Thuy has had many policies and guidelines to gradually apply high technology to agricultural production in order to develop comprehensively in a modern, sustainable and highly competitive direction.

Party committees and district authorities have diversified the forms of disseminating Resolution 09 to all cadres, party members and people in the district on agricultural development policies, focusing on shifting the structure of varieties and reasonable crop seasons; encouraging farmers to accumulate land, planning concentrated areas, promoting the application of science and technology in production, bringing high income, towards clean and sustainable agriculture.

At the same time, mobilize OCOP entities to participate in association activities, promote product consumption; connect consumption, display, introduce OCOP products in potential markets, combine building tours, tourist routes, festival activities...

Along with actively propagating to change the thinking of producers, improving the qualifications of cadres from the district to the grassroots, enhancing the transfer of scientific and technical advances to farmers to adapt and quickly approach new models, the district focuses on directing localities to actively coordinate to organize the review of key agricultural products to select and register for support according to the policies of the province and district; encourage organizations, individuals, enterprises, and cooperatives to register to implement programs and projects to develop rural agriculture, especially agricultural production in the direction of goods.

Focus on building demonstration models, guidance, technology transfer, production technical advances, advanced farming techniques, biotechnology associated with product preservation and processing. Prioritize organizations and individuals investing in high-tech agricultural production on a commodity scale according to the value chain from production to product consumption to improve product competitiveness, meeting the increasing demand of commodity production in the context of international economic integration.

Currently, the district has built a number of models with high economic efficiency such as: Linking safe biological honey bee farming by Thanh Thuy Beekeeping Cooperative with a scale of 4,000 bee colonies; linking safe biological pig farming and consumption in Dong Trung commune led by NTEA Organic Food Joint Stock Company with a scale of 6,800 pigs/year.

The district People's Committee has also implemented models such as ST25 rice production towards high-quality goods in the communes of Dong Trung, Doan Ha, Tan Phuong, Xuan Loc, Dao Xa; Thuy Huong 308 high-quality rice model with an area of ​​over 108 hectares, produced according to VietGAP standards, granted growing area codes in the communes of Tu Vu, Bao Yen, Xuan Loc; intensive date palm cultivation model...

At the commune level, 3 models have been deployed: In Dong Trung commune, 2 models of mushroom and wood ear production using high technology in the direction of goods and a model of cultivating cordyceps according to the process of ensuring food hygiene and safety, serving the needs of tourism and services. In Xuan Loc commune, a model of applying high technology in the production and processing of tea products has been built.

Based on existing farms, the District People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to review agricultural production projects and models and farms to build a comprehensive farm producing high-tech goods according to the value chain associated with experiential tourism in Dong Trung commune.

The construction and application of high technology in the production and processing of agricultural products in recent times in Thanh Thuy has created a positive effect, acting as a lever for agricultural and rural development. Up to now, the average product value per hectare of cultivated land and aquaculture in the district has reached 135 million VND/ha/year.
