The Vietnamese team is certain to qualify for the semi-finals after the victory over North Korea and will find it difficult to compete with China for the top spot in the group. Therefore, the match against the home team tonight (October 5) is just a formality for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.

The Vietnamese team still started with the strongest lineup. However, facing an opponent ranked No. 1 in Asia and No. 6 in the world, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates could not create a surprise in the first game. The Vietnamese team lost 13-25.

In the second game, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet started rotating the team to save energy for the key players. Thanh Thuy was rested until the end of the game. The Chinese team showed their superiority and won the next two games with the scores of 25-13, 25-11.

The positive aspect of the Vietnamese team in this match was that the players limited the number of technical errors in the first step and second pass. During the time-outs, the head coach only asked his players to play as well as possible and execute the correct moves. In fact, most of the points lost by the Vietnamese team came from the Chinese team's overly strong attacks.

No player on the Vietnamese team scored more than 10 points in this match, the most was Vi Thi Nhu Quynh who only earned 7 points. Meanwhile, China had Yuan Xinyue scoring 17 points and 3 other players scoring 12 points: Wang Yuanyuan, Wang Yunlu and Li Yingying.

Losing to China after 3 matches, the Vietnamese team ranked second in Group E, round 2. Thanh Thuy and her teammates met the first team in Group F, Japan, in the semi-finals of the women's volleyball event of the 19th ASIAD.
