Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues his "belt-tightening" policy at Man Utd as about 200 more employees of the team are set to lose their jobs. Previously in July 2024, Sir Jim Ratcliffe fired 250 out of 1,150 employees at Man Utd. Thus, in less than 8 months, the number of employees fired by the Old Trafford team has reached about 450 people.

Man Utd have lost £300m in the last three years, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos group pumping more money into the club. The new owner is looking for ways to cut costs and increase revenue, even if it means making decisions that are unpopular with fans.
Ratcliffe's controversial moves included raising season ticket prices to a minimum of £66 per ticket, removing Sir Alex Ferguson from his role as global ambassador, cancelling staff Christmas parties, cutting the £40,000 funding for the Man Utd ex-players support fund, replacing the £100 Christmas bonus with a £40 voucher, and removing free travel, food and accommodation benefits for staff.
In addition to financial difficulties, Man Utd are also facing professional difficulties when ranked 13th in the Premier League. Coach Ruben Amorim even admitted that Man Utd could be relegated and called the current squad the worst in the club's history.
