On January 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association held the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Colors of the Homeland”. The exhibition displays artistic news photography works by the couple, photographers Ha Khac Dung and Tran Kim Cuc.
"Homeland Colors" displays 69 works selected from hundreds of typical works that the couple photographers Ha Khac Dung and Tran Kim Cuc took over the years, marking the milestone of more than 40 years of holding the camera.
Previously, photographer Ha Khac Dung and his wife Tran Kim Cuc were both primary and secondary school teachers working in their hometown of Tay Ninh. After liberation, life became difficult and hard, so they took on a second job as photographers, at that time taking black and white photos for parties to earn extra income to cover their living expenses.
Photographer Ha Khac Dung shared: "My wife and I once lost our creative direction, there was a time when we wanted to give up our cameras, but with a strong passion, we rekindled the flame of photography once again when I joined the Go Vap District Photography Club. We traveled across provinces and cities from North to South, wherever there were honest people and beautiful scenes, I took pictures to capture that moment."
"My wife and I are very happy and proud that the Association is interested in and organizes an exhibition to mark our photography career. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Colonel, Artist Doan Hoai Trung - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association and the Go Vap Photography Club for creating conditions for my wife and I to organize a photo exhibition to celebrate my 69th birthday," photographer Ha Khac Dung added.
