The love story began on a rainy night when Ms. Hang (Than Thuy Ha) gave birth to a baby girl named Ngoc Tram. That same day, Ms. Hang’s husband also brought home another baby girl, saying he found her on the side of the road and asked her to raise her. But in reality, the baby was his and his lover’s child who unfortunately died of hemorrhage – the baby girl was named Ngoc Truc.

A few years later, Ms. Hang’s husband also passed away suddenly in a traffic accident. Before he died, he confessed the truth about his affair with Ms. Hang, asked her to raise Ngoc Truc as her own child and promised not to reveal the child’s true identity.

Above Family is a story with a profound message about family values.

Ngoc Truc and Ngoc Tram grew up to be two beautiful girls. Outsiders only knew that they were twins through the words of Mrs. Hang. But the two sisters' personalities were completely opposite: the older sister Ngoc Truc was gentle, sympathetic, and understanding while the younger sister Ngoc Tram was somewhat selfish, calculating, and lazy. One day, Ngoc Tram accidentally heard her mother's conversation with Ms. Loan - her father's younger sister and mistook her for an illegitimate child.

Incidents befell the two girls when they entered puberty and fell in love. Especially, when Ngoc Tram plotted to change her role to become Ngoc Truc's older sister in order to steal her husband - Hoang Phuong, who was the young master of a wealthy corporation.

Trying his hand at the family drama genre for the first time, according to director Thai Trinh: "I chose the story of "swapping" identities just to bring a message to the audience - no matter who you are, no matter what you are like, live your own life."

He said that through the message of the film, he also wanted to emphasize the value of family, the value of love. Family is the only place that will never abandon you.

Actress Thien Nga experienced many hardships during the filming of the movie.

According to director Thai Trinh, when preparing to cast actors for this film, he determined that he needed to find new, young, beautiful, bright faces that were suitable for the character to bring a new breeze as well as create new faces for the television industry.

Therefore, it took him a long time to find suitable faces for each role. And luckily, he met young people who were suitable for the role and passionate about the character.

Hai Nam's first foray into the television drama industry

The role of Ngoc Tram/Ngoc Truc is played by actress Thien Nga. She said that she was encouraged and trusted a lot by the director. “To be able to recreate the same face but clearly two different people is a challenge.

However, as an actress, Nga is not afraid of challenges. Nga wants to be diverse in each character rather than in each role" - Thien Nga shared.

The role of Hoang Phuong is played by young actor Hai Nam, which is also his first leading role. Director Thai Trinh's requirement is that Hai Nam must act out the character's demeanor, a CEO with a straightforward personality, affection for his family and always loyal to his girlfriend from school days. He shared that he found a sympathetic thread with the character in his emotional lifestyle.

The supporting cast in the film are familiar faces.
