(NLDO) - Each valedictorian has a touching story, but they all share the same determination to succeed.

On the morning of January 4, Tien Phong Newspaper awarded scholarships to 95 valedictorians in the 9th "Supporting Valedictorians" scholarship program, organized by this unit in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund - said he could never forget the touching stories of orphaned valedictorians, abandoned by their parents or lost their fathers and mothers; students from extremely poor families, in remote areas, but still trying to overcome adversity, bringing their dreams to university.

"Over the years, we have listened to and shared hundreds of inspiring stories from the children. Each story is a song about the spirit of overcoming difficulties, about the desire to reach beautiful dreams" - journalist Phung Cong Suong commented.

According to the Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, over the past 9 years, the "Supporting Valedictorians" scholarship program has helped nearly 900 students nationwide achieve excellent results in the university entrance exam, with nearly 9 billion VND in cash and useful items worth billions of VND. Despite facing seemingly insurmountable difficulties, the students have turned adversity into motivation, turning their dreams into torches to light up their educational journey.

"The scholarship program "Nang buoc valedictorian" always stands side by side with students, supporting them both materially and spiritually, so that they are confident in their journey to conquer knowledge, becoming useful citizens for society" - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper emphasized.

In 2024, the organizing committee received more than 350 student applications to the program. Most of the applications were introduced by universities and academies across the country.

After a rigorous screening process, the organizing committee selected 30 students from the Northern region and 60 students from the Southern region to receive scholarships. Five students who received scholarships in previous years and maintained good academic performance also continued to receive scholarships on this occasion. Each scholarship is worth 10 million VND in cash and many valuable items.
