In November 2024, an important milestone was recorded when two pig farms of Mavin Group in Anh Son district - Nghe An province and Kbang district - Gia Lai province were officially granted GlobalGAP certification, SLP version (Smart Livestock Production) by the prestigious global inspection and certification organization Bureau Veritas (BV).

To achieve this prestigious certification, farms have undergone a rigorous assessment process. Independent experts have conducted comprehensive inspections of every stage of the production process, from seed sources, feed, housing conditions, to sanitation, waste treatment and biosecurity. All criteria must meet the strict requirements of the GlobalGAP SLP standard, one of the most prestigious international standards for good agricultural practices.

This achievement is the result of Mavin's tireless efforts in building a modern, sustainable and internationally standardized livestock system.

The Global SLP certification, which follows on from GlobalGAP 5.2, places extremely stringent requirements on pig farms. To achieve GlobalGAP certification, pig farms must meet a series of strict criteria, including water and feed quality, housing conditions, animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity, waste management, veterinary medicine management and social responsibility.

Achieving GlobalGAP SLP certification is of great significance, affirming Mavin Group's pioneering position in the Vietnamese livestock industry, always at the forefront of applying international standards and modern technology. This certification also demonstrates Mavin's commitment to environmental protection, ensuring animal welfare and sustainable development.

The Global GAP assessment team conducted a comprehensive inspection of all stages of the production process of Mavin pig farms.

In particular, with GlobalGAP SLP certification, pork products from Mavin farms are globally certified for quality and food safety, ensuring they meet the strict requirements of domestic and foreign markets. This is aimed at Mavin's ultimate goal of providing clean, safe meat for consumers' health.

The granting of GlobalGAP SLP certification is a continuous effort in Mavin Group's green transformation journey, aiming to join hands with the Government in the roadmap to reduce emissions to zero by 2050.

During this journey, Mavin has taken many specific actions to minimize negative impacts on the environment throughout its production and supply chain, including: sustainable waste management, efficient use of energy and resources, monitoring and continuous improvement of production and business activities.

Specifically, 100% of Mavin's livestock farms have switched to using biogas energy in production, livestock waste is collected and treated to provide organic fertilizer for crops. Advanced, environmentally friendly production technology includes: Automatic feeding/drinking system reduces loss and waste, reduces labor in the farm, animal feed is transported in tank trucks and discharged directly into bran silos, thereby saving tens of billions of VND in packaging costs each year. The automatic central cooling system optimizes energy use, while also contributing to reducing the amount of water used to cool the barn.

Mavin is considering applying the circular model at pig farms that meet the zero-emission criteria.

Mavin farms also apply SAP ERP centralized system management software, cloud computing technology, and real-time data rendering to serve management and timely planning.

Mavin is also considering applying the circular agriculture model on farms to reduce emissions and increase the regeneration rate. Including: applying advanced full-storage technology, meeting the criteria of no discharge, disease prevention, water saving; applying waste treatment processes to ensure compliance with biosafety regulations, limiting sources of infection, odors, pig waste is also utilized and converted into organic fertilizer, returning to the land what the farming process has taken away.
