Thai Nguyen City: Total retail sales and consumer services increased by 5.8%

In the first quarter of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and social consumer services in Thai Nguyen City are estimated to reach 11,280 billion VND (up 5.8% over the same period in 2024). In particular, in March 2025 alone, the above figure was higher than the first 2 months of the year with nearly 4,300 billion VND (over 3,600 billion VND in January, over 3,300 billion VND in February). The items with strong consumption are food, essential food, construction materials, gasoline, etc.

To achieve the above results, Thai Nguyen City has directed specialized agencies to continue to effectively implement administrative reforms, attract investment, and create all conditions for units and enterprises to develop production and business. At the same time, the City People's Committee has directed functional agencies to tighten market management to ensure food safety and hygiene; promptly detect and strictly handle violations of legal regulations on counterfeit goods, fake goods, and poor quality goods, etc.

Currently, in Thai Nguyen City, there are 7 commercial centers, 20 supermarkets, 30 traditional markets and over 1,800 operating businesses. The goal of developing trade and services in Thai Nguyen City in 2025 and the following years is to attract investors to build key projects, tourist attractions, entertainment areas, and high-class resorts in the area.
