Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol is the 20th President of the Republic of Korea. He was born on December 18, 1960 in Seodaemun District, Seoul Capital; degree: Master of Law (Seoul University, Korea).

In October 1991, Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol passed the 33rd Judicial Examination. From February 1994 to February 1999, he was a prosecutor at the Daegu City Prosecutor's Office and the Seoul City Prosecutor's Office. From March 2008, he served as the Director of the Nonsan District Prosecutor's Office of the Daejeon City Prosecutor's Office.

In August 2011, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. In April 2013, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. From January 2014 to January 2016, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office. From May 2017, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. From July 2019 to March 2021, he served as Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy...

In November 2021, he was the Presidential Candidate of the National Power Party. On March 10, 2022, he was elected the 20th President of the Republic of Korea. On May 10, 2022, he took office as the 20th President of the Republic of Korea.

This is the first State visit to Vietnam by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Vietnam is also the first Southeast Asian country that President Yoon Suk Yeol has visited since taking office in May 2022. The visit takes place in the context of the good development of the relationship between the two countries. The two sides have upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (2022). The visit also demonstrates the importance that the Korean Government and President Yoon Suk Yeol personally attach to the Vietnam - Korea relationship.
