Summary of the work of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in 2024, towards the 10th Congress for the term 2025-2030

(NADS) - On the morning of November 19, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists held a Conference to summarize the Association's work in 2024 and announce the action plan from now until the end of the 9th term (2020-2025), and at the same time deploy the plan to prepare for the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, term X (2025-2030).

Attending the conference were: Mr. Doan Thanh No, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Mr. Ma The Anh, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Dinh Van Thuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Kieu Quang Trung, Deputy Director of Department 5, Central Organizing Committee.

On the side of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, there were: National Assembly Delegate - Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Association, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, Head of the Photography Theory and Criticism Board; Artist Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Association and President of the Arts Council.

Artist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Association, reported on the summary of the work of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in 2024.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, NSNA Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, said: 2024 is the year of Vietnamese photography associated with many major events of the country such as the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory, the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, and implementing the 10th Congress Plan.

The Association has successfully organized the Southern Regional Branch President Conference, the seminar "Orientation for the development of Vietnamese photography", the workshop "Vietnamese Photography - 50 years of development with the country"; successfully organized the Vietnam Artistic Photography Contest 2024; coordinated to organize the third national art photography contest and exhibition "Proud of a border strip", the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024"... The regional photo festivals were all successful, ensuring quality...

Mr. Kieu Quang Trung, Deputy Head of Department 5, Central Organizing Committee spoke at the Conference.

Regarding the tasks from now until the end of the 9th term, the Association will organize Vietnamese photography activities within the framework of the plan to organize activities to summarize 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); a workshop on the 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Lai Xa photography village Nguyen Dinh Khanh (Khanh Ky) 1874 - 2024; complete the manuscript and print the book "History of Vietnamese photography from 1869 - 2023"; continue to develop the project "Creative space and digital transformation of Vietnamese art photography works at the Vietnam Art Photography Archives and Exhibition Center", digitize the archive to complete the archival work as well as exchange and share photos with units, organizations and individuals (both domestic and foreign); summarize and award the 25th Vietnam International Art Photography Contest.

NSNA Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Association spoke at the Conference.

In particular, from now until the end of the term, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists will focus on directing the congresses of branches at the grassroots level and preparing documents for the 10th National Congress (2025-2030) in May 2025.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists also guided the organization of congresses of grassroots branches of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for the 2024-2029 term.
