The National Assembly opens the 9th extraordinary session to review personnel work.
This morning, February 12, the 9th extraordinary session of the National Assembly opened. The session is scheduled to take place from February 12 to 18. Notably, this session will consider and decide on many issues related to the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the National Assembly and Government agencies, and review personnel work.
According to the program, at the opening session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver an opening speech.
After that, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented a report on the supplementary project on socio-economic development in 2025 with a growth target of 8% or more. Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh will present a report examining this content.
The National Assembly will hear reports on the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly, and the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended). The National Assembly will then discuss in groups the two draft laws.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly will hear and examine the draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended). The draft resolution of the National Assembly will regulate the handling of a number of issues related to the reorganization of the state apparatus.
Next, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly.
Residents' deposits exceed 7 million billion VND
According to the latest statistics from the State Bank, as of November 2024, the total deposits of residents at banks have officially exceeded 7 million billion VND, an increase of 7.16%, equivalent to 467,549 billion VND compared to the end of 2023. Compared to October, the amount of deposits increased by 22,136 billion VND.
For businesses and economic organizations, the State Bank recorded deposits of VND 7.26 million billion, an increase of 6.26% compared to the end of 2023.
Regarding the number of individual payment deposit accounts, according to the State Bank, by the end of the third quarter of 2024, it reached nearly 198 million accounts, with a deposit balance of nearly 1.2 million billion VND.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, from February 3 to February 9, the city recorded 475 cases of dengue fever, a decrease of 0.5% compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks.
The total number of dengue fever cases accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to week 6 is 2,920 cases. Districts with high number of cases per 100,000 people include Can Gio district, District 7 and Thu Duc city.
In week 6, the city also recorded 79 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, down 38.2% compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks.
