One of the reasons why people in the province, especially young people, love to use green means of transport such as electric motorbikes, electric bicycles, electric cars, etc. is the change in thinking, gradually considering environmental protection as one of the important factors when looking to buy a car.
The introduction and launch of various electric vehicle models in different segments by car manufacturers has expanded the choice for consumers. In addition, the operating costs of electric vehicles are also more economical when compared to traditional vehicles, especially in the context of rising fuel prices. This is also a global trend towards more sustainable and green transportation.
In the centers of districts and cities in the province, many stores selling electric cars, electric bicycles, electric motorbikes have appeared, creating a fever in the community such as VF3, VF5, Wuling mini EV, Evo...
To facilitate people to use electric vehicles, companies have launched many flexible incentive programs, helping consumers easily access such as free charging incentives at V-Green stations; supporting customers to charge electric motorbikes for free within one year from the date of purchase...
Mr. Le Van Minh, a sales consultant at Vinfast Vinh Phuc facility, Dinh Trung ward (Vinh Yen) said: By the end of 2024, VinFast had supplied nearly 97,400 electric cars, nearly 70,980 electric motorbikes and electric bicycles globally. In the Vietnamese market, VinFast has become the car company with the number 1 market share, surpassing all foreign gasoline and electric car brands. Many car models have created a fever across the country in general and in the Vinh Phuc market in particular, especially the two electric car models VF3 and Wuling mini EV.
Within the framework of the Conference "Green transformation - awareness and action for a sustainable future of Vinh Phuc" taking place at the end of November 2024, the Provincial People's Committee and Vingroup Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation on green transformation with the aim of maximizing the strengths of each party to promote green transformation and sustainable development in the locality, contributing to reducing net emissions to 0 (Net Zero).
Accordingly, the province will accompany Vingroup through specific actions such as researching and introducing locations for charging stations; supporting and creating conditions for people in the province to make a green transition to using electric cars, electric motorbikes, etc., contributing to creating conditions for green means of transport to develop, protect public health and promote sustainable economic development.
The strong growth of electric vehicles in Vinh Phuc in particular and the country in general is creating an urgent need for the installation of charging stations. The province currently has about 1,850 electric vehicles of all types registered and in circulation with nearly 50 stations. On average, each station has 2-4 charging posts, with a capacity of 11-120kw/charging post, mainly concentrated in Vinh Yen city, Phuc Yen and some gas stations on national highways.
With the goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 46% by 2030 and moving towards zero net emissions by 2050, Honda Vietnam Company recently held a ceremony to launch its first electric motorbike model called ICON e.
The vehicle is equipped with an explosion-proof Lithium-ion battery, meeting IP67 standards; the inspection process is strictly controlled according to Honda standards and Vietnamese law regulations, ensuring product safety and stable operation.
It is expected that in April 2025, ICON e will be supplied to the market by the company, promising to bring positive signals to the electric vehicle market of the province in particular and the whole country in general.
The widespread use of green means of transport in the province is an inevitable trend to limit CO2 and other toxic emissions into the environment, contributing to improving public health. At the same time, realizing the province's sustainable development goals in the new period.
Therefore, in addition to continuing to research, develop and promulgate mechanisms and preferential policies to support businesses operating in the production and import of electric vehicles, investing in electric charging stations, converting from fossil fuel vehicles to green vehicles, etc., authorities at all levels in the province continue to promote propaganda work to change awareness and encourage people to use green energy vehicles for the goal of "Green Transition - Green Future".
