In recent times, farmers' associations at all levels in the province have played a good role in supporting and mobilizing members and farmers to be united, dynamic and creative in production with new models that bring high economic efficiency.
The Provincial Farmers' Association visited the grape growing model of Mr. Ha Thinh Hung's family in village 12, Nga An commune (Nga Son).
Mr. Ha Thinh Hung's family farm in Nga An commune (Nga Son) is built according to a zero-waste circular agricultural model. With a farm scale of hundreds of pigs, the farm releases dozens of tons of waste into the environment each year. To treat this waste safely and hygienically, Mr. Hung's family has built a biogas system, all waste is transferred to the biogas tank for incubation, then pumped up to settling ponds, mixed with biological products, and continued the incubation process to become organic fertilizer. With the attention of local authorities at all levels, along with a support level of 70 million VND/1,000m2, his family has invested in building 4,000m2 of greenhouses to produce cantaloupe. Currently, the family is producing with a rotation formula of 3 cantaloupe crops/year using high technology. The entire area of the greenhouse is invested in installing a drip irrigation system, through an automatic control application using a smartphone. Thanks to proper care and technical procedures, each melon crop yields 3 tons of commercial melon/1,000m2. With an area of 4,000m2, the yield is nearly 50 tons per year, after deducting costs, the profit is nearly 200 million VND. In addition to growing yellow melon, the family invested in a trial planting of 500m2 of milk grapes, which are growing and developing well.
Taking us to visit the Luc Truc bamboo garden, Ms. Dinh Thi Le in Minh Thai village, Minh Son commune (Ngoc Lac) said: “By chance, while reading the newspaper, I learned about the Luc Truc bamboo growing model for bamboo shoots in Bac Giang province. Through trips to learn about bamboo growing experiences in many places, the processes of selecting varieties, planting, caring, harvesting bamboo shoots, breeding... I took careful notes. After more than 1 year of planting and caring, Luc Truc bamboo did not disappoint, meeting the initial expectations; the plants grew well, the quality of the bamboo shoots was delicious, suitable for local soil and climate conditions, bringing high economic value. I stood up to mobilize the establishment of the Luc Truc bamboo shoot cooperative with 10 members. The members are united, regularly exchange and share experiences to support each other in terms of capital, planting techniques, care, and expansion of the Luc Truc bamboo growing area in the locality, which has now increased to more than 30 hectares".
