The Wall Street Journal on February 4 quoted people who witnessed billionaire Elon Musk's use of banned substances or were informed of this information as saying that there were concerns at companies about the billionaire's use of banned substances and his use with some members of the board of directors of two companies. The board did not open any investigation into the incident.

This week, a Delaware judge criticized the relationship between Elon Musk and Tesla board members, saying the board members had a conflict of interest when approving nearly $56 billion in compensation for the billionaire. The judge invalidated the excessive compensation.
According to The Wall Street Journal , Mr. Musk has frequently used LSD, ecstasy, cocaine, and hallucinogenic mushrooms at private parties. The billionaire and his personal lawyer Alex Spiro are tested for illegal drugs periodically and randomly at SpaceX but have never tested positive.
Some friends and executives at companies controlled by Mr. Musk say they are forced to use drugs because they would not displease their company’s leaders. They also do not want to lose the “social capital” of being around the billionaire.
In January, Mr. Musk posted on social media about his drug use: "Whatever I'm doing, I should obviously continue doing it. If drugs really improve my performance over time, I'll definitely take them."
He wrote on social network X on February 4 that after smoking marijuana on a podcast in 2018, he agreed to take random drug tests for three years at the request of the US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), but no results have ever detected drugs or alcohol in his body. Mr. Musk's SpaceX company has been approved to launch military spy satellites for the government.
