Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Chansamone Chanyalath was pleased to welcome the delegation of the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense to visit and work, thereby contributing to tightening the special traditional friendship between the two countries and the two armies; at the same time, it is also an opportunity for the two sides to continue exchanging directions for implementing the common perceptions and the 2023 Cooperation Plan agreed upon by the two countries' Ministers of National Defense in the past.
General Chansamone Chanyalath emphasized that, given the complicated developments in the world and regional situation, the two countries' Defense Ministries need to strengthen education and propaganda for the two countries' soldiers, especially the younger generation, to deeply understand the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which is "unique" in the world.
Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, Minister Chansamone Chanyalath emphasized that the two countries' Ministries of National Defense will continue to direct the comprehensive and effective implementation of the contents of the 2023 Cooperation Plan, with special attention paid to promoting the propaganda of the friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, Governments, peoples and armies of the two countries through activities on resources, exchanges and twinning; directing the preparation work to serve the series of joint defense foreign affairs activities between the armies of the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia, including the Border Defense Friendship Exchange at the level of the Ministers of National Defense in the common border area of the three countries (Kon Tum province, Vietnam; Attapeu province, Laos and Rattanakiri province, Cambodia), the annual meeting between the three Ministers of National Defense and joint activities on the sidelines.
On the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year of the Lao people, Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien sent his best wishes to the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and all officers and soldiers of the Lao People's Army; and at the same time conveyed the congratulations of General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Chansamone Chanyalath.
