Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai welcomed Mr. Jussi Halla-aho's choice of Vietnam for his first official visit outside Europe as Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, and thanked Finland for its support and sharing in Vietnam's past struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.

Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai believes that the Vietnam-Finland bilateral relationship will achieve new positive developments in the coming time, and at the same time, proposed a number of major directions and measures to expand and improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries in areas such as manufacturing industry, sustainable forestry, green transformation, waste treatment and taking advantage of the EVFTA to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation.
The Standing Secretariat emphasized the need to increase exchanges of high-level delegations, cooperation on party and national assembly channels, between ministries, branches and people-to-people exchanges.
Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Jussi Halla-aho affirmed that the two countries still have much potential for cooperation in areas where Finland has strengths and Vietnam has needs.
Stating that Vietnam is an attractive destination for Finnish businesses, the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament shared the opinion of Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai that the two countries need to continue promoting and creating strong changes in cooperation in all fields.
