With a total output of about 1,875 tons, this year's orange crop is expected to bring the people of Thuong Loc (Can Loc, Ha Tinh) a revenue of nearly 47 billion VND.
The output of Thuong Loc oranges this year is quite stable, prices have increased compared to last year.
Vice Chairman of Thuong Loc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Hai said: The whole commune has 230 hectares of orange growing area, of which 150 hectares are for harvest; mainly concentrated in the villages: Nam Phong, Thanh My, Son Binh, Anh Hung.
This year, due to heavy rain, oranges were affected by fungus and fell, so the estimated output was about 1,875 tons, down from 2022 (nearly 430 tons). However, the output of the product was quite stable, the price increased compared to last year by about 5,000 VND/kg. Accordingly, at the beginning of the season, oranges and lemons were sold at an average price of 25,000 VND/kg, and crispy oranges at 40,000 VND/kg (currently, the price fluctuates from 65,000-70,000 VND/kg). It is estimated that the total income from oranges this year in Thuong Loc commune is nearly 47 billion VND.
