The reduction in production by Formosa Ha Tinh Hung Nghiep Steel Company Limited has had a significant impact on Ha Tinh's import and export tax revenue.
The decrease in revenue collected by the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department compared to the same period in 2022 is due to the general difficulties of the global economy, which have impacted import and export activities through border gates in the province. Landslides on Highway 8 in Bolikhamsai province (Laos) affected trade activities of businesses through the Cau Treo International Border Gate. Furthermore, reduced imports of machinery and raw materials by Vung Ang II Thermal Power Joint Stock Company and Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company Limited significantly impacted the revenue collection results of the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department.
Currently, the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department is focusing on urging its units to effectively implement tax policies, valuation, and revenue collection; ensuring that revenue collection is on schedule and according to plan, striving to achieve the revenue targets assigned by the Central and local governments.
