On the afternoon of June 5, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the National Center for Electronic Authentication (Ministry of Information and Communications) to organize a conference on "Coordinating the implementation and promotion of the popularization of digital signatures (CA) in Ho Chi Minh City".
The conference aims to contribute to popularizing digital signatures closer to the people, promoting the digital economy, digital society and improving the quality of service for people and businesses when handling administrative procedures.
According to the leader of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the national digital transformation has entered the lives of people in Vietnam. Digital transformation will help digitize most administrative procedures, documents..., reduce time and costs for the government and people, and promote the digital transformation process of Ho Chi Minh City faster.
Recently, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City has coordinated with the National Center for Electronic Authentication to deploy a solution to integrate remote digital signatures on the city's administrative procedure settlement information system. After deployment, the system has achieved many positive results, shortening the time to settle administrative procedures and improving the quality of service to the people.

Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, Deputy Director of the National Electronic Authentication Center (NEAC), shared that the center has currently deployed digital signature services to handle administrative procedures in 17/63 provinces and cities, with 47/63 public service portals ready to provide public services to the people.
At the same time, the center also coordinated with the Vietnam Digital Signature and Electronic Transaction Club, agreed with 7 organizations providing public digital signature certification services to have policies to support people. The center committed to accompany the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, providing free digital signature services to people within 1 year. Hopefully in the near future, Ho Chi Minh City will be the locality with the highest coverage of personal signatures in the country.

At the conference, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, said that according to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in 2023, 100% of public administrative areas will be qualified to provide online services. To operate according to the city's policy, the application of digital signatures and digitization of records is a mandatory requirement.
Ho Chi Minh City has provided digital signatures to two groups of subjects: state agencies and citizens. Through the conference, the department hopes to bring digital signatures closer to the people, making the settlement of administrative procedures more convenient and effective in the future.
On this occasion, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Digital Signature and Electronic Transaction Club and organizations providing public digital signature certification services signed a memorandum of understanding on coordination to promote the popularization of digital signatures in Ho Chi Minh City with policies to support people, promote the application of digital signatures...
Specifically, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate with organizations to provide free personal digital signatures to people when performing administrative procedures in the electronic environment from June 2023 to June 2024.
People can go to the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts to get it. In addition, coordinate with CA providers to organize booths to issue free personal digital signatures in upcoming events.
