SANKEI SHIMBUN. 400,000 Japanese soldiers and 200 British soldiers participated in the Vigilant Isles joint exercise in Gunma Prefecture - the largest joint exercise since the two countries signed the Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA).
KOREA TIMES. About 3,400 South Korean Navy and Marine Corps soldiers are participating in a week-long amphibious landing exercise near the east coast to enhance joint combat capabilities.
YONHAP. South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is drafting a bill to ban the eating of dog meat in five years - the first time the government has officially moved to end the practice.

BANGKOK POST. Thailand's Ministry of Public Health has launched a campaign called "Have a baby, make the world great" to encourage couples to have children and boost the country's worryingly low birth rate.
REUTERS. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) estimates that Iran has increased its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60% purity, according to a confidential quarterly report distributed to its 35 member states.
As of October 28, Iran possessed 128.3 kg of 60% enriched uranium, an increase of 6.7 kg compared to the September report. Thus, Iran's total enriched uranium reserves as of October 28 were 4,486.8 kg, an increase of 691.3 kg compared to the previous quarterly report. |

AFP. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez was re-elected for a new term after receiving 179 votes in favor and 171 against, with no abstentions, in a vote on November 16 in the National Assembly.

AP. The Turkish parliament has postponed a vote on ratifying Sweden's accession to NATO, with the parliament's foreign affairs committee set to discuss the issue further next week.
AFP. The European Commission (EC) has proposed a ban on imports of diamonds and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Russia, and tightened the implementation of price caps on Russian oil.
EURONEWS. The EU has reached an agreement to set up a system to share data on home rentals on the online platform Airbnb and other short-term accommodation sharing platforms.

REUTERS. The United States will continue to compete relentlessly with China, but will manage that competition responsibly so it does not lead to conflict or accidental conflict, US President Joe Biden told reporters after a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in San Francisco, US.
