Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife at the car door and invited them to the podium. The military band played the Vietnamese and Malaysian national anthems. The head of the Guard of Honor reported and invited General Secretary To Lam to inspect the Guard of Honor. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Vietnamese and Malaysian officials; along with the Ambassador, Head of the Foreign Representative Office in Malaysia. Afterwards, at the Prime Minister's Office, General Secretary To Lam signed the guestbook. At the end of the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary To Lam and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended a small meeting and an official meeting; witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents; and spoke to the press after the meeting. The two leaders will inform each other about the situation in each country, discuss ways to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations, including consolidating political trust, enhancing cooperation in security - defense, economy, trade, investment, labor, tourism, people-to-people exchange, etc.
