The delegation was led by Mr. Brian McFeeters (senior vice president and regional managing director of USABC) and Ms. Imelda Martin-Hum (president and CEO of IM Systems).

Also participating in the delegation were representatives from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell Textron, A2G (Air to Ground), AeroVironment, Atmo, Blue Halo, IMSG, Loading Republic, Oliver Wyman, Realtime Robotics, R-MOR, Stick Rudder Enterprises.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the delegation of aerospace, defense and security enterprises of USABC participating in the exhibition. This is an important event, a prominent activity in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam National Defense Day.
The Prime Minister said that the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has continued to develop in depth and substance after one year of establishment. Bilateral political relations are at their best since the normalization of relations (in 1995) and the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
According to the Prime Minister, economic, trade and investment cooperation is the focus and driving force in the relationship between the two countries. The potential for cooperation in this field is still very large and has many meanings for the relationship between the two countries. This contributes to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
With the target of double-digit growth each year, the Prime Minister emphasized the exploitation of new development spaces, the development of new industries and fields. These include space, aviation economy, marine space (such as wind energy, solar energy, etc.), and underground space.
This shows that the vision and orientation of the American businesses attending the meeting have many similarities, consistent with the orientation and trends of Vietnam. Therefore, the Prime Minister suggested that USABC and American businesses continue to exchange and work closely to promote cooperation.
Especially trade, technology transfer, investment, production in Vietnam. Training high-quality human resources for emerging industries, cooperation to improve smart management capacity, support capital resources. Expand cooperation, realize opportunities in the spirit of "harmonized benefits, shared risks".
US businesses assess many opportunities for defense cooperation
Vietnam commits to ensuring the legal and legitimate rights and interests of investors; at the same time, maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing environment, firmly protecting the country's independence and sovereignty so that investors can feel secure in making sustainable, long-term and effective investments.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister asked USABC and businesses to speak out to the US government in support of strengthening sustainable economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries; early recognition of market economy status and removal of Vietnam from the list of countries with restricted high-tech exports.
Mr. Brian McFeeters and members of the delegation congratulated Vietnam on organizing the International Defense Exhibition 2024. This is an opportunity for US corporations to exchange, work, and cooperate with agencies, organizations, and enterprises in the Vietnamese defense industry. Enterprises will also continue to support Vietnam in potential and strategic fields, as well as provide practical support for the development of bilateral relations.
The delegation members also highly appreciated Vietnam’s achievements and great development potential, especially its ability to adapt to new contexts. Given the progress in bilateral relations, businesses affirmed that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large.
Accordingly, leaders of US corporations all expressed their continued support for Vietnam in its development process, wished to continue to promote its role as a bridge between the two countries and would expand investment, strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese partners, and actively contribute to promoting bilateral relations to become increasingly deeper, more substantial, and more effective.
