Gold prices gradually recovered, increasing by about VND100,000/tael in the following sessions. On June 6, domestic gold prices plummeted again, down VND150,000/tael.

Since the beginning of the month, domestic gold prices at SJC and Doji have increased by VND50,000/tael in both buying and selling directions.
On the world market, spot gold price on June 17 (Vietnam time) was trading at 1,958 USD/ounce.
In the short term, gold prices may fluctuate slightly, trading in the range of $1,930 - $1,980/ounce, depending on upcoming US economic data, according to Harshal Barot, senior consultant at Metals Focus.
Tai Wong, an independent metals trader in New York, said gold remains sensitive to weak or dovish economic data. Gold is trading in a range of $1,940-$1,990 an ounce.
