The Vietnam Education Trade Union said that Mr. Manh was chosen because of his contributions to education; he is one of the principals who initiated and pioneered community activities. In particular, he has made contributions that surpass many other teachers when applying the happy school model following the trend of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and other countries in the world today.

Mr. Manh attracted attention on social media in January after a video of him juggling a ball 2,700 times in front of more than 1,000 teachers and students in the yard of Hoi Hop B Primary School. At the time, he said this was to spread the message about the benefits of exercising for health and perseverance.

This is also a way to build a happy school. When teachers and students feel comfortable; everyone is respected, loved, safe and valued, it will promote pedagogical productivity as well as learning efficiency.

Previously, the goal of education was to develop knowledge and skills, but now it is capacity and character. Along with training knowledge and skills, the school also creates many activities for students to improve their capacity, focusing on autonomy and self-study; communication and cooperation; problem solving and creativity.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An, Chairman of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, assessed Mr. Manh as a person who strongly motivates love and responsibility for the teaching profession in the context of innovation; is the person who creates the trend of digital transformation in primary schools, responding to the increasingly large general changes.

"This is truly a source of pride for the trade union, the education sector and Mr. Dao Chi Manh personally. I was surprised and happy to receive this information," said Mr. An.
