On the afternoon of August 3, the Southern Information Security Association (VNISA South) coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City to hold a press conference to inform about the Information Security Conference and Exhibition (IS) 2023 with the theme "New Technology and Cyber Security in the Era of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence".
The conference and exhibition took place on August 25, 2023 at the GEM Center (No. 8, Nguyen Binh Khiem, District 1). The conference focused on the field of information technology and information security when deploying digital transformation applications to state management agencies at the central level and in the southern provinces.

According to the VNISA survey in the South, 69% of surveyed units and organizations have a specialized department for information security, however, many organizations do not have a large number of employees. About 50% of organizations need to deploy training programs for information security management experts, defense techniques, anti-attack techniques and techniques to protect system and application safety...
Meanwhile, 29% of surveyed organizations said that information security costs accounted for more than 5% of information technology costs. This result is higher than the 2022 survey and is a positive sign that organizations are investing more in information security.
Mr. Ngo Vi Dong, Vice President of VNISA, said that the issue of information security and safety is increasingly important and urgent. In addition to traditional issues of information security, the conference and exhibition also focused on new and urgent issues such as protecting industrial systems and critical infrastructure, applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in a number of fields such as computer vision, malware detection, high-tech fraud, etc.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the current challenge is to ensure information security when applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to life. When deploying a new technology or service in cyberspace, in addition to the efficiency and convenience it brings, it is necessary to be vigilant about the possibility of technology being exploited for fraud.
The year 2023 is marked by the acceleration of the digital transformation trend, however, the digital transformation process also leads to new strategies, new technologies and new risks.
