Creating momentum for Binh Dinh tourism growth
With the events organized by the province to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Binh Dinh Province Liberation Day (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025), especially the implementation of free trains and carriages, creating new tours... a large number of tourists have flocked to Binh Dinh, creating momentum to promote local tourism growth.
M in the direction of developing railway tourism
From March 28 to 31, Binh Dinh welcomed more than 1,000 tourists from Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City to visit by charter trains/carriages (renting the entire trip, entire train car) to transport tourists free of charge to visit Dat Vo.

Mai Trung Kien, a tourist traveling from Hanoi to Dieu Tri station, shared: “I have passed by Binh Dinh many times, but this is the first time I have really come here to experience tourism. Not only do they give tourists free train rides, but the tourism industry in Binh Dinh also coordinates very well with the railway industry to advise and support tourists in taking care of all conditions very thoughtfully, leaving many good impressions about Binh Dinh people.”
Sharing the same excitement when traveling to Binh Dinh by free train for the first time, Ms. Do Thi Quy, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City to Quy Nhon station, happily said: “When I got off at Quy Nhon station, I was greeted by everyone happily and warmly, which made me feel very secure and touched. I saw a lot of information saying that Binh Dinh people are very friendly, now I feel the reality. Surely after this trip, I will return to Binh Dinh many more times.”
Having brought tourists to experience Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh many times and this time experiencing free train travel, Mr. Truong Cong Thanh, Director of Phi Long Travel Company - Da Nang Branch, shared: "I am very happy to meet and connect with many domestic tourism workers on the train travel journey. Coming back here, I have experienced new discoveries, especially to Con Chim. In my opinion, Binh Dinh still has a lot of potential to exploit and promote the development of inbound tours (tours for foreign tourists to visit and experience)".
Opening the direction of developing railway tourism in Binh Dinh will create an attractive and diverse tourist itinerary, meeting the needs of tourists. According to Mr. Ha Trong Thang, Deputy General Director of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, to create a tourist product by train to Binh Dinh, it is necessary to exploit more tourist trains from Quy Nhon station to Dieu Tri station and vice versa. Because the 10 km long Quy Nhon - Dieu Tri railway is a branch line, currently each day there is only one pair of passenger trains SE29, SE30 (Saigon - Quy Nhon route) operating, so the remaining train capacity is very suitable for exploiting tourist trains.
Creating momentum for tourism growth
The Travel Association of Binh Dinh Tourism Association organizes two preferential tours with the theme "Epic Journey" and "The Quintessence of Martial Land" designed specifically for the free train travel program. This is a completely new tourism product, contributing to promoting the image of the land and people of Binh Dinh by bringing tourists to experience historical and cultural relics; famous landscapes and destinations in Binh Dinh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan - Director of Golden Life International Travel Company Limited, Vice President of Binh Dinh Tourism Association, Head of the Travel Association, said: "The free-ticket tourist trains organized by the province are a stimulus for tourism businesses in the province to continue creating new tourism products to serve tourists, especially in the upcoming summer tourist season, contributing to promoting the development of Binh Dinh tourism industry".
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to innovate existing tourism products such as: Sea and island tourism; historical, cultural and sports experiences; MICE tourism and scientific discovery; community, agricultural and ecological tourism and create new products and tours to attract tourists to Binh Dinh, especially foreign tourists.
In the current context, destinations in the region and around the world are implementing many measures to facilitate attracting tourists and to improve competitiveness. Vietnam tourism in general and Binh Dinh province in particular are forced to diversify products and improve the quality of tourism services. And with the way of doing things as just happened, it can be said that Binh Dinh has introduced a creative direction.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “Rail tourism is considered a new product to enhance the experience and add more choices for tourists to Binh Dinh. This year, Binh Dinh strives to attract 10 million visitors. To achieve this goal, we will promote and link tourism development. In particular, the province will organize a series of cultural, sports and tourism events at national and international levels to increase the attraction of tourists, especially international tourists.”
• In the first 3 months of this year, Binh Dinh welcomed more than 3.3 million visitors (including more than 29,000 international visitors), an increase of 20.2% over the same period in 2024; total revenue from tourists is estimated at more than 7,800 billion VND, an increase of 20% over the same period last year.
• “Binh Dinh needs to have policies to support the development of railway tourism such as the policy to attract MICE tourism that the province has issued; upgrade transport infrastructure, connect train tours with eco-tourism and resorts. Strengthen tourism promotion, organize major events to attract tourists; focus on human resource training, digital transformation in the tourism industry to meet the increasing needs of tourists…” - Mr. Ha Van Sieu , Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism)
