Since the beginning of 2025, Van Don tourism has seen many improvements with a large number of tourists from all over the world coming to visit and experience. This is considered a positive signal opening up opportunities for cooperation and promoting Van Don tourism to domestic and international tourists.
The district’s spring festival is a time to attract tourists to Van Don, because it has its own unique and attractive features, not only preserving the beauty of the original culture but also creating a space for exchange and community connection. Thereby contributing to promoting activities to introduce, promote and stimulate local tourism.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh (Cua Ong Ward, Cam Pha City) said: "This is the second year I have attended the Fishing Festival in Van Don, both to enjoy the spring, visit the scenery, and worship, and to wish my family a new year of health, luck, and success."
During the Lunar New Year 2025, Van Don welcomed over 138,000 visitors to visit and experience. The district's cultural and spiritual tourism sites continue to be the main attractions for tourists, such as Cap Tien Temple, King Ly Anh Tong Temple, Cai Bau Pagoda, attracting nearly 130,000 visitors, including about 2,000 overnight guests (219 international visitors).
In order to effectively stimulate tourism, in 2024 the district will organize the opening ceremony of the San Diu Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Binh Dan Commune. Coming here, visitors can participate in folk games such as stick pushing, tug of war, etc.; visit the food stall displaying local agricultural products with many special cakes such as silver head cake, bo cake, long ep cake, humped square cake, duc cake, etc.
Currently, 14 new tourism products have been built, forming a series of unique tourism products, increasing the choice and competitiveness of the district's destinations. New tourism products put into operation, attracting a large number of tourists are: Sonasea Van Don Harbor City luxury resort; Van Don Farm (Ha Long commune); Van Yen eco-tourism area; Vove Camping area (Van Yen commune), Khe Mai Farm (Doan Ket commune)...
According to the representative of Wyndham Garden Sonasea Van Don Hotel, with a large number of tourists, especially during holidays, Tet, and weekends, the service capacity is very large. To ensure service quality, the hotel applies digital technology in booking services and rooms directly through online services. When coming to stay, customers can book rooms directly on the hotel's website with attractive incentives. All check-in and check-out procedures can be performed and completed by tourists themselves, possibly without the support of hotel staff or receptionists... It is expected that in the second quarter of 2025, the hotel will launch a new tourism product, the Night Market in the Sonasea Van Don Habour City area. Here, guests can experience and enjoy street food from 3 regions, buy souvenirs and specialties of Quang Ninh, Van Don, experience making traditional local products...
It is expected that by 2025, Van Don district will develop new tourism products such as: Experience San Diu Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Binh Dan commune); 2-day 3-night heritage journey connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay combined with a visit to Ngoc Vung island; Community eco-tourism tour (a day as a fisherman and learning about the history and culture on Ngoc Vung island); Sonasea Van Don internal night market. |
In 2025, the district strives to attract over 2 million visitors; including over 1.8 million domestic visitors and 200,000 international visitors. Total revenue from tourism activities is expected to reach 3,500 billion VND. To achieve that goal, the district will synchronously and drastically implement solutions to promote the development of service tourism on the basis of green growth and green tourism development; focusing on linking the tourism industry with other industries and fields, between Van Don and domestic and foreign localities in the tourism product value chain. Along with that, continue to complete the infrastructure, synchronous and modern tourism technical facilities, with diverse, unique, professional and high-quality tourism products, gradually forming the Van Don - Co To National Tourism Area according to Decision No. 509/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2024 of the Prime Minister "Approving the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2045".
