In 2024, Trang An ( Ninh Binh ) will mark 10 years since it was recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage. Ninh Binh province plans to celebrate this event with a series of exciting activities.
On the morning of January 24, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province held a press conference to announce the organization of the event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An landscape complex being recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage; and the events and programs that will be held in 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, said that on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site, Ninh Binh province will organize many activities to connect and spread culture, taking place from January to September 2024. According to Mr. Tung, the organization of the 10th anniversary of Trang An heritage is of great significance to remember, educate and inspire generations to understand and appreciate the historical origins and traditions of the homeland of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the position, role and importance of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; at the same time, strengthen community cohesion, promote cultural exchange, promote and bring the image and cultural heritage of the ancient land of Trang An to domestic and international friends and tourists. "Up to now, Ninh Binh is the only locality in Southeast Asia that owns a mixed cultural and natural world heritage. Therefore, we are always deeply aware that Trang An heritage is not only a treasure bestowed by nature, preserved and passed down by generations of Ninh Binh people to this day, but it is also a place where historical - cultural values and fine traditions of the nation converge and crystallize.

Trang An heritage will only promote its value when it brings material and spiritual values, social cohesion, livelihood maintenance and new livelihood creation for the people. The ancient capital Hoa Lu is an ancient land, with the depth of history, the breadth of space, the length of human habitation, worthy of its geopolitical, geo-military and geo-cultural position. "The 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site is to reflect on the past, look to the present, and look to the future, with the goal and determination to build Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh into a millennium heritage city and a city directly under the Central Government by 2035," said Mr. Tung. It is expected that a series of activities will be held in 2024, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Trang An being recognized as a world heritage site, including: the ancient Tet festival; an international scientific conference with the theme "promoting the role and value of the world cultural and natural heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex in building a millennium heritage city and connecting UNESCO heritage cities".
Many programs and events will be held in 2024 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized as a heritage site.

Scientific workshop with the theme "Vu Lam palace in the process of formation and development of Truc Lam - Yen Tu Buddhist thought of Tran Nhan Tong and the historical and cultural value of the painting Truc Lam Dai Si Xuat Son Do"; organize an archaeological exhibition space about the cultural values of the province and Trang An scenic complex; display images of 9 world heritages in Vietnam and a discussion on developing archaeological tourism products. Organize Ninh Binh Tourism Week "The Golden Color of Tam Coc - Trang An"; organize a press contest on the topic of preserving and promoting the value of Trang An scenic complex, developing sustainable tourism; organize contests to compose songs and literary works about Ninh Binh province and Trang An scenic complex; organize exhibitions of ornamental plants of provinces in the extended Red River Delta with the theme "The Quintessence of the Ancient Capital"; Organize a contest to design typical gifts of the province associated with heritage values and cultural and historical values of relics in the heritage site.
On June 25, 2014, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was officially recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage, based on three outstanding criteria, including: outstanding global cultural values; aesthetic values; outstanding global values of geology and geomorphology. At the time of recognition, Trang An was the 31st mixed heritage in the world, the 11th in Asia - Pacific and the first mixed heritage in Southeast Asia.
