The wave of attacks has spread to western regions of Ukraine. In total, at least 12 Russian attacks have been confirmed in nine regions of Ukraine, including the capital.

Loud explosions were heard in the Ternopil region. One of the Russian drones attacked a local railway repair plant. These workshops are used to repair military equipment that Ukraine receives from abroad.

Another target hit by Russian attacks in western Ukraine is the Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnitsky region. The Russian military has resumed attacks on the facility after a pause of several weeks. Ukrainian forces are trying to secure hangars so they can deploy F-16 fighters there and use the pause to restore facilities damaged by previous Russian attacks. According to unconfirmed reports, the new wave of Russian attacks has destroyed an air defense system deployed in the area.

During the attack on the night of March 6, the Russian army did not limit its attacks to western Ukraine but also targeted a number of Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities in the Kiev and Sumy regions. These facilities were damaged after the attacks.

In eastern Ukraine, another wave of attacks destroyed Ukrainian military positions in the Kharkiv region, especially in the Chuguev region.

The southern Odessa region also suffered a major attack by Russian drones. This was the second night in a row that the region was attacked by Russia. Among the targets were warehouses used to store drones in the port of Odessa.

Multiple Russian attacks were also reported in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Vinnytsya, Rivne and Lviv regions.

The massive attack across Ukraine may have been Russia’s response to Ukraine’s attack on the Crimean Bridge a day earlier. In an attempt to protect the bridge from unmanned vessels, the Russian patrol boat Sergey Kotov sank in the Kerch Strait.
