Samsung stops supporting Galaxy Fold

According to 9to5Google , Samsung has just confirmed that it will stop updating regular security patches for the first generation of Galaxy Fold after the model turns 4 years old as initially announced. This means that the device will not receive any more updates since the company's announcement.

Not long ago, the Galaxy Fold received its final security patch, and it has no chance of getting Android 13 with the One UI 5 update. The next model on the support list will most likely be the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which was launched in 2020. The Fold 2 will not get the One UI 6 update, but will continue to receive security patches until 2024.

For those still using the Galaxy Fold, technology experts say it's time to switch to a new device, because the lack of security update support makes the phone an easy target for cyber attacks.

The Galaxy Fold pioneered the foldable smartphone market, bringing a new change when most smartphones revolved around the bar design. However, this product has encountered many challenges.
