The patient used eye drops but the itchy eyelid symptoms became more and more severe, causing discomfort and a feeling of heaviness in the eyelids, especially at night.

Through microscopic examination, the doctor was surprised to discover many pubic lice clinging to the patient's eyelids under the scales. There were many lice eggs clinging to the eyelashes.

The doctor removed dozens of lice stuck to the eyelids, treated the lice eggs on the eyelashes, and instructed the patient on how to clean the eyes.

After treating the eyelash lice, the doctor instructed the female patient to go to a specialized medical facility for further examination and treatment.

This female patient also said that some family members also had persistent itching in their eyelids, and the doctor did not rule out the possibility of having eye lice.

Dr. Nam said that lice are common in dogs and cats. When in close contact with dogs or cats, lice can easily crawl onto humans.

Pubic lice live and lay eggs in moist areas such as the eyes, anus, and genitals. Therefore, when there are signs of itching and discomfort in the eyes, private areas such as the genitals, anus, armpits, etc., you need to go to a medical facility for examination and timely intervention.
