The qualifying round of the South Central and Central Highlands region of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup will take place from January 10 to January 18, 2025 at Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa). This region has 6 student football teams participating, including: Nha Trang University, Khanh Hoa University, Nha Trang College of Tourism, Thai Binh Duong University, Quy Nhon University and Da Lat University. The teams will compete in a round-robin format to select 4 teams to enter the semi-finals and finals. The winning team will win a ticket to the final round held in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Phan Ngoc Hau, head of the Nha Trang College of Tourism team, said that to prepare for the third season, the core team is still the players who participated in the two previous Youth Student tournaments. In addition, the team has added some new players with quite good quality. In this third time participating, the coaching board as well as the players are very focused and determined to pass the group stage.

"Although the core is still the experienced players who participated in the previous 2 seasons, the team is still weakened when losing captain Tien Hoang and experienced midfielder Duy Phong due to injury. However, with the addition of quality players such as Cong Hoang and Xuan Bac, who have played for the youth teams of Khanh Hoa province, the Nha Trang College of Tourism team this year is confident in competing for a ticket to the final round," said Mr. Phan Ngoc Hau.

Having participated twice but failed to pass the group stage, the third time, the players of Nha Trang College of Tourism were not too stressed but on the contrary, very excited and happy. Goalkeeper Nguyen Hoang Viet shared, "Being able to participate in a large, professionally organized playground like the Youth Student Football Tournament is an honor for us students. The previous two seasons, the team participated with the goal of competing, learning as well as promoting the beautiful image of the school. This year, some of us will participate for the last time, so we set a higher goal with the hope of winning a ticket to the final round."
Striker Xuan Bac shared that participating in the student tournament is a beautiful memory for students of Nha Trang College of Tourism.
Sharing the same determination, striker Xuan Bac, a player who used to "train" with the youth teams of Khanh Hoa, said, "This is the second time I have participated in the Youth Student Tournament. Head of the delegation, Nguyen Duy Hau, added that although the field was difficult to practice on, and it was difficult to practice enough players because the students were busy with exams and internships, the team had only been able to practice small group coordination exercises in the past few days, and had not had any official friendly matches. However, the players all practiced with great determination. This year, Nha Trang College of Tourism is determined not to be a "backdoor" and will be a tough opponent for other teams.

The qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup has 66 teams divided into 6 groups competing according to geographical areas from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025. Specifically, including the northern region (from December 30, 2024 - January 10, 2025 at Thuy Loi University Stadium); the Central Coast region (from January 6 - January 12, 2025 at Military Zone 5 Stadium - Da Nang); the South Central and Central Highlands regions (January 10 - January 18, 2025 at Nha Trang University Stadium); the Southeast region (January 4 - January 12, 2025 at Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria - Vung Tau); Southwestern region (January 8 - January 17, 2025 at Can Tho Stadium) and Ho Chi Minh City region (December 28, 2024 - January 15, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium) to select 11 teams with the host team Ton Duc Thang University to compete in the final round of the tournament from March 1 - March 16, 2025.
