Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visits and presents gifts in Tay Ninh

Continuing her working trip to Tay Ninh, on April 9, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and her delegation visited the special national historical site of the Southern Central Bureau Base; visited families with meritorious services and officers and soldiers of the Xa Mat International Border Gate Border Guard Station in Tan Bien district.

Also attending were Major General Nguyen Hoai Phuong, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tay Ninh Province. This is an activity towards the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

At the special national historical site of the Southern Central Bureau Base, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the delegation offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, visited the Exhibition House and historical sites.

Visiting the Xa Mat International Border Post, the Acting President acknowledged and commended the achievements of the officers and soldiers of the Xa Mat International Border Post, highly appreciating the role of the Border Guard force in advising local Party committees and authorities on national defense and security, foreign defense; contributing to building the political system at the grassroots level and developing the socio-economy in the border area. The Border Guard force is always closely attached to the people, helping the people in the border areas to have an increasingly improved material and spiritual life, contributing together with the Border Guard force to firmly protect the border line and landmarks.

The Acting President requested that officers and soldiers of the Xa Mat International Border Post continue to uphold their traditions, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and fulfill their assigned political tasks. In particular, they should strengthen defense diplomacy, thereby contributing to the stability and development of Tan Bien district in particular and Tay Ninh province in general. Tay Ninh Border Guard forces continue to closely coordinate with local military and police forces to grasp the area, promptly forecast the situation, and promptly prevent cross-border crimes. At the same time, they should continue to lead and direct units to build a strong and comprehensive regular Border Guard force to fulfill their political tasks in the new situation.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Minh, Head of the Xa Mat International Border Guard Station, gave a general report to the working delegation on the unit's heroic tradition and achievements in recent years. The station was established in 1973 and was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State in 1978. The station is responsible for managing a 12.3km long border section. Over the years, the border line under the station's management has always been stable, territorial sovereignty, border lines, and landmarks have been firmly protected; regularly coordinating and exchanging relevant information with local authorities and armed forces of neighboring Cambodia, actively contributing to building a peaceful, stable and developing border. The political security situation and social order and safety in the border area have always been maintained. Since the beginning of 2023, the unit has detected and handled 66 cases with 91 subjects for illegal exit and entry; Arrest and handle many drug and smuggling cases...

The station proactively and actively advises and coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to build a strong grassroots political system; implements many models and movements to help people develop socio-economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. From there, people actively participate with the Border Guard to protect territorial sovereignty, national border security, and fight against cross-border crimes.

On this occasion, also in Tan Bien district, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan came to present gifts and warmly visit Vietnamese Heroic Mother Phan Thi Hoi (born in 1934, residing in Thanh Tay commune) and war invalid Dinh Van Lam (born in 1948, residing in Tan Bien town).

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her deep gratitude for the great sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and wounded soldiers in the cause of national liberation, national reunification and for the noble international duty. At the same time, the Acting President requested that leaders of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Tay Ninh province continue to pay attention and devote resources to the work of gratitude, social security, and constantly improve the material and spiritual life of policy families in the area.
