Awarding the title of 145 Craft Village Artisans in 2024

According to the Vietnam Craft Village Association, the Association has organized 10 times of conferring craft village titles from 2007 to 2022, including conferring 1,041 Vietnamese Craft Village Artisans (including 82 Vietnamese Craft Village Culinary Arts and Culture Artisans); 73 Typical Craft Villages; 72 Typical Craft Village Economic Units; 10 Craft Village Quintessence Treasures; 100 Typical Craft Village Quintessence Handicraft Products; 131 Vietnamese Craft Village Skilled Workers; 124 Vietnamese Traditional Craft Family Golden Boards.

At the national level, the Association is the place to provide the State Council with outstanding artisans for the Council to consider conferring the titles of People's Artisan and Meritorious Artisan. Of the 22 People's Artisans and 202 Meritorious Artisans, 15 are People's Artisans and 135 are Meritorious Artisans who are artisans from craft villages and members of the Vietnam Craft Village Association.

The Association's regulations on honoring and conferring awards are public and transparent, with clear award criteria. The awarding council consists of prestigious experts and scientists in society.

Sharing with the media before the event, the new President of the Vietnam Craft Villages Association - Trinh Quoc Dat said: The awarding of artisans is in accordance with strict standards.

Regarding the standards for typical Cultural and Tourism Craft Villages, they include: Having good infrastructure and environment for craft villages and ecological environment; quality tourism services, aiming at the development of friendly, safe and sustainable tourism craft villages; having tourism products with characteristics of each craft village and each locality; actively participating in the new rural construction movement; having positive solutions to improve the environment in craft villages; organizing well the cooperation in production, trade promotion, and product consumption; having awareness of complying with the Charter of the Vietnam Craft Village Association, participating in building the Association to become stronger and stronger.

Regarding the criteria for the Living Human Treasures of Vietnamese Craft Villages, they include: Being a People's Artisan or an Excellent Artisan who has been awarded by the State; having exceptionally excellent knowledge and skills, having great contributions in protecting and promoting the value of local handicrafts; possessing skills and secrets; teaching and imparting the profession to 100 or more individuals, except in the case of special occupations.

Directly design and manufacture at least 10 products and works of high economic, technical and artistic value; receive awards or receive certificates of achievements from state organizations, economic organizations, and socio-professional organizations at domestic and international competitions, fairs and exhibitions permitted to be organized by the Prime Minister; have good moral qualities, be exemplary in life; be dedicated and devoted to the profession, and be admired and respected by colleagues and the public.

Regarding the standards for Vietnamese Craft Village Artisans: Being a skilled worker, holding the secrets of the craft, having high level of skills and techniques, directly creating models and designing products, having a sense of responsibility for protecting the environment; having achievements in contributing to preserving and teaching the craft to the younger generation; having works that have won domestic or international awards; having professional qualifications and ethics: being dedicated to the craft, recognized by the community and colleagues; having a sense of complying with the Charter of the Vietnam Craft Village Association, participating in building the Association to become stronger and stronger.

Regarding the criteria for elite treasures: A unique elite product; a product with a unique form; a product of special value related to a major event of the country or related to the career of a national hero or a typical celebrity; or a famous work of art in terms of ideological, humanistic, and aesthetic values ​​representing a trend, a style, or an era; or a typical invention or creation, with high practical value, and with the effect of promoting social development in a certain historical period; or a natural specimen demonstrating the stages of formation and development of the earth's history or natural history.

Regarding the criteria for Skilled Workers: Being a skilled worker, working with high productivity and quality recognized by those in the same profession; Having works that have won prizes in competitions and exhibitions at the provincial level or higher; Having professional qualifications and ethics; Having a good sense of compliance with the Charter of the Vietnam Craft Villages Association, participating in building the Association to become stronger and stronger.

Regarding the criteria for the Golden Board of Traditional Craft Families of Vietnam: Being a family or clan born and raised in traditional craft villages and streets, having been passed down the craft for 3 generations or more, mastering the craft secrets, having high levels of skills, techniques, and designing products with high cultural content; currently preserving and teaching the craft to younger generations in the family and community by combining traditional and modern technology; having products and works that have won awards at competitions, fairs, and exhibitions; winning awards domestically and internationally, being environmentally friendly; having stable production and business activities, having practical effects on the family and community in terms of economy, culture, society, and sustainable development; having a good heart for the profession, actively participating in social activities, not violating the law, and being recognized by colleagues and the community.
