Thac Ba Hydroelectric Reservoir is still safe
Speaking to the Government E-newspaper at the inspection, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep said that up to this point, Thac Ba Hydropower Reservoir is safe. "However, there is still much work to be done, but with the inflow and discharge, we confirm that Thac Ba Hydropower Reservoir is safe," Hiep said. It will take about 1-2 more days for the reservoir to return to the allowable water level and people in the area must still stay in shelters to guard against any unforeseen events that may occur.
Mr. Hiep said that with the weather forecast, the Thac Ba Hydropower Plant problem will be resolved well, the water level will drop below the allowable threshold. The rainfall forecast in this area in the next 48 hours is about 40-50 mm and in the next 24 hours, the rainfall is about 15-20 mm. Currently, the authorities have calculated all options and proactively prepared forces to respond with the spirit of minimizing damage, in which, people's lives are paramount.
