On November 10, in Thanh Hoa, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended the 2024 National Great Unity Day at the residential area of Hamlet 1, Van Son commune, Trieu Son district.
The festival is held to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024).
Speaking at the Festival, reviewing the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the role of gathering and promoting national solidarity in building and developing the country.
In 2003, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued a Resolution on organizing the "National Great Unity Day" and decided to take November 18 every year as the day to organize the Great Unity Day in residential areas to continue building and consolidating the great unity bloc from the grassroots level.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is an opportunity to review the tradition of great national solidarity in residential areas, "to see the strength and value of great national solidarity" contributing to the socio-economic development and national defense of the country in general and each residential area in particular.
This is also an opportunity to honor advanced models. "We see that in Van Son there are many models that can be honored today to encourage and motivate them to continue contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
This festival is also an opportunity for Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front at all levels to discuss and "see what issues can be contributed so that we can join hands in building the country."
The Deputy Prime Minister said that Van Son commune is a land with a rich history, culture and revolutionary tradition, considered a symbol of ancient Vietnamese villages, a land of "spiritual land and talented people". This place still preserves evidence of the Ba Trieu uprising against the Ngo invaders in 248, and is an outpost of the main uprising base of Nua Mountain with historical, cultural and scientific values recognized by all levels and sectors.
Proud of the historical - cultural and revolutionary traditions of their homeland, the people of Van Son commune are simple, loyal, hard-working, and always promote the spirit of national pride with passionate patriotism, creating a unique cultural identity for the land and people of Van Son, contributing to the revolutionary cause of the country.
Van Son is recognized as a model new rural commune and is aiming to become a smart new rural area, "so the determination is very high", the Deputy Prime Minister assessed and acknowledged the socio-economic development results of Van Son commune and of Residential Area Village 1.
"As the Party Cell Secretary and Head of the Front Work Committee just said, in the Residential Area of Village 1, Van Son has everything, and even achieves higher results," the Deputy Prime Minister assessed. The village has 198 households, with 602 people, and an average income per capita of nearly 70 million VND/person/year. The roads are spacious and well-maintained. "This cannot be achieved if people do not voluntarily donate land to build roads, and Trieu Son is a district with many people voluntarily donating land with very large areas." Through that, it can be seen that solidarity in residential areas is very important.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and congratulated the Residential Area of Village 1, Van Son Commune for its achievements in recent times.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that consolidating and promoting the great national unity bloc is the community of strength, intelligence and resources for the country's socio-economic development. In the context that there is only more than 1 year left to strive to achieve the socio-economic development goals set by the 13th National Party Congress, it requires greater determination, more solidarity and more efforts from the people to be able to complete the task.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the Residential Area of Village 1, Van Son Commune, Trieu Son District as well as the whole Thanh Hoa Province will continue to make many contributions to the development of the country. The Residential Area will actively discuss and give suggestions to the government on arising issues and solutions.
We are currently in the process of rearranging administrative units and reorganizing the apparatus. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this requires high consensus. Local Party committees and authorities need to attach importance to, better understand their roles and have specific solutions to strengthen the great national unity bloc.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Van Son commune, in response to the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the village has mobilized people to contribute to building the Cultural House campus, expanding roads, installing lighting lines, building fences, green fences, and renovating houses and gardens for households according to the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise and people benefit". Up to now, the village has invested in and built new, purchased facilities for the Cultural House, built and whitewashed 2,500 m of fences; mobilized 54 households to donate land, expanded and upgraded over 3 km of roads; 100% of the roads have been concreted. The total cost of mobilizing resources for construction is over 5 billion VND; of which the commune budget supports nearly 300 million VND, resources mobilized from the people contribute over 4.7 billion VND and hundreds of working days.
The residential area actively builds models of "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe", "Residential area ensures environmental hygiene; implements and complies with civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals. Whenever there is a happy, sad event, illness or misfortune of the families, the people unite and share together. The village has no more poor households, only 1 household is a social protection beneficiary; 1 near-poor household.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long presented many gifts to policy families and families in difficult circumstances in Van Son commune.
