PGBank appoints new Acting General Director: Nguyen Van Huong

On behalf of PGBank's Board of Directors, Mr. Pham Manh Thang, Chairman of PGBank's Board of Directors, presented the appointment decision and delivered a speech assigning tasks to the new acting General Director.

Congratulating the new General Director and congratulating the Board of Directors on having more members, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank Pham Manh Thang also expressed his belief that with his extensive experience, in his new position and responsibility, Mr. Huong will promote his management ability, create solidarity and unity in the Board of Directors and PGBank to complete the goals set by the resolutions of the General Meeting of Shareholders and the Board of Directors; build PGBank into an international standard bank, a desirable workplace and a source of pride for all employees; provide high-quality products and services to customers; and contribute to the development of Vietnam.

Mr. Pham Manh Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered a congratulatory speech and assigned tasks to the new Acting General Director of PGBank.

“The Bank’s Board of Directors wishes the new Acting General Director much success in his new position. The Board of Directors and the Board of Management will always accompany and closely support the new Acting General Director to successfully complete his tasks, contributing to the strong and prosperous development of PGBank,” Mr. Pham Manh Thang emphasized.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, PGBank Acting General Director Nguyen Van Huong thanked the Board of Directors and the Management Board for their trust in his assignment. Mr. Huong also shared his honor to join PGBank, a potential bank with a tradition of more than 30 years.

At the same time, the new acting General Director hopes to receive the attention and support of the Board of Directors and the consensus and dedication of all PGBank staff. “I hereby commit and promise to the shareholders and the Board of Directors of PGBank that together with the Board of Directors of PGBank, we will try our best to complete the proposed business plan, and together build the PGBank brand to be increasingly stable, sustainable and contribute positively to the community and society,” affirmed Mr. Nguyen Van Huong.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, born in 1980, has more than 21 years of experience in the field of finance and banking. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Investment Economics and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the National Economics University in Hanoi.

During his career, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong has held many positions from credit officer, to corporate and individual customer management, as well as important sales channels at large state-owned and joint-stock banks such as Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank), Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) and most recently he held the position of Deputy General Director, Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB). His capacity and professional experience have been repeatedly affirmed through awards and excellent achievements at the organizations he has worked for.

Prosperity and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PGBank), formerly Dong Thap Muoi Rural Joint Stock Commercial Bank, was established on November 13, 1993. In 2007, PGBank changed its name to Petrolimex Joint Stock Commercial Bank and has grown steadily, gradually building trust with customers.

December 2023 marks an important milestone for PGBank as it enters a period of transformation and strong breakthrough by changing its name to Prosperity and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank, and changing its brand identity.
