On November 29 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed a cooperation agreement and announced the official operation of the Oil and Gas Search, Exploration and Exploitation Database System - Phase 1.
Attending the ceremony, on Viettel's side, there were Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Group; members of the Group's Board of Directors; leaders of Viettel Enterprise Solutions Corporation (Viettel Solutions); and representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units under Viettel.
On Petrovietnam's side, there were Mr. Le Ngoc Son, General Director of the Group; members of the Board of Directors, Board of General Directors; leaders of specialized departments/Group Office; leaders of member units of the Group.
Over the years, Petrovietnam has always determined that promoting the application and development of information technology and digital transformation will help the Group improve labor productivity, operational efficiency and competitiveness as well as bring many other benefits. This is a key, continuous task that Petrovietnam and its member units are actively implementing. In the process of implementing the Group's digital transformation strategy, Petrovietnam has quickly strengthened cooperation with capable and experienced partners to promote this work and identified Viettel as an important, strategic partner.
In 2019, the two Groups signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of exploiting and promoting strengths and potentials as well as supporting each other to expand and develop areas of operation in accordance with the business plans, strategies, and capabilities of each party, effectively using each party's resources to complete production and business tasks. With the results achieved in recent years, the leaders of the two Groups have highly agreed to continue to cooperate and develop together in the coming period.
At the ceremony, Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, congratulated Petrovietnam on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry's Traditional Day. Major General Tao Duc Thang affirmed that Petrovietnam and Viettel are the country's leading industrial groups, playing an important role in ensuring the country's socio-economic development. Both groups are also pioneers in digital transformation, carrying an important mission to serve the Fatherland.
Evaluating the results of cooperation over the past year, Mr. Tao Duc Thang assessed that the two Groups have well implemented the contents of the cooperation agreement, especially supporting, supplementing, sharing experiences, helping each other in various fields to improve and enhance the quality of operations of both sides. Through the process of cooperation exchange, Viettel leaders assessed that in the coming time, Petrovietnam and Viettel will continue to have many areas of cooperation such as digital technology, security, safety in the digital environment; high technology in production... Mr. Tao Duc Thang believes that the cooperation between Petrovietnam and Viettel in the new period will continue to reap many successes.
On behalf of Petrovietnam's leadership, General Director Le Ngoc Son emphasized that the official operation of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation Database System - Phase 1, along with the signing of a cooperation agreement with Petrovietnam and Viettel in the new phase, is an important milestone in the cooperation between the two groups.
Petrovietnam General Director Le Ngoc Son shared that in its development orientation, Petrovietnam will aim to become a National Industry - Energy Group, in which the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation will continue to play a core role of the Group. The implementation of the database system is expected to bring about a breakthrough in this field, contributing to optimizing the efficiency of Petrovietnam's operations.
In the coming time, Petrovietnam leaders hope that the two Groups will continue to cooperate closely, coordinate well in implementing cooperation contents, further promote digital transformation at the Group, thereby contributing to building and developing Petrovietnam sustainably, accompanying the country into a new era.
