(GLO)- On June 2, the Civil Servants' Trade Union of Gia Lai province held the 5th Trade Union Congress, term 2023-2028.

Attending the congress were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation (PPF), members of the Standing Committee, Heads of the Provincial Labor Federation Committees; Ms. Tran Thi Kim Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; representatives of the Pleiku City Labor Federation, the Provincial Economic Zone Labor Union; the Health Sector Labor Union; the Education Sector Labor Union; the Agriculture and Rural Development Sector Labor Union and 100 delegates representing 3,189 union members of 56 affiliated grassroots unions.
The report at the congress stated: In the 2017-2023 term, the provincial Trade Union has innovated content, improved the quality of activities, demonstrated its representative role, cared for the lives, protected the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, and made an important contribution to the implementation of the tasks of the agency and unit.
In particular, focusing on promoting emulation movements and campaigns such as: The program "Welfare for union members and workers" has signed 10 cooperation agreements to bring incentives to cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers (CBCCVC-LĐ); building new and repairing 6 houses for union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances; emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Good advice, good service", "Building a cultural agency and a quality, effective 8-hour working day"... At the same time, directing to focus on key contents, proposing appropriate solutions and organizing implementation to achieve and exceed 12/12 targets set by the Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2017-2023 term; the rate of grassroots trade unions completing their tasks well or better reached 96.52% (exceeding 9.52% of the assigned target).
In addition, the provincial Trade Union has done a good job of participating in the development and implementation of policies and laws directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of workers and union members; doing a good job of inspecting and supervising the implementation of laws, policies, social insurance and health insurance for workers, etc.

With the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", the 5th Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union focused on analyzing some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome in the coming time; at the same time, discussing targets and tasks for the 2023-2028 term.
Accordingly, the congress resolved to pass 10 main targets including: Strive to annually achieve and exceed the union member development target assigned by the Provincial Federation of Labor; annually, 95% or more of the grassroots trade unions are classified as having completed their tasks well, over 90% of union members are awarded the title of excellent union members, over 90% of female civil servants and public employees are awarded the title of "Good at public affairs, Good at home affairs", the provincial civil servants and public employees are classified as having completed their tasks well; on average, each grassroots trade union introduces at least 1 outstanding union member to the Party for consideration and training; 100% of grassroots trade unions and civil servants and public employees develop plans and effectively implement work following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style annually and throughout the term; associated with the Campaign to build "Loyal, responsible, honest and creative" civil servants and public employees.
Every year, over 90% of agencies and units achieve the title of "Culturally qualified agencies and units" and over 95% of families of civil servants and employees achieve the title of "Cultural families"; Strive to have 60% or more of civil servants and employees be propagated and mobilized to participate in studying and training to improve their professional qualifications, political theory, and professional skills. 100% of cadres and civil servants are equipped with professional skills according to job requirements and are capable of completing assigned tasks with quality; 100% of agencies and units establish Steering Committees to implement the Democratic Regulations and organize annual Conferences of civil servants and employees with increasingly high quality...

Speaking at the congress, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Ngoc Minh agreed with the targets, directions, and tasks for the 2023-2028 term of the Provincial Federation of Labor presented to the Congress as well as the results achieved in concretizing the Resolution of the higher-level Trade Union.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor proposed that the new Executive Committee inherit and promote the spirit and responsibility, taking the legitimate needs of the majority of union members and workers as the basis for activities; synchronously and diversely carry out propaganda, education and mobilization work of the Trade Union organization, attach importance to the work of participating in building a generation of young cadres, civil servants and public employees capable of accessing advanced science and technology and digital transformation. Promote patriotic emulation movements among union members, civil servants and workers.
Pay attention to directing the Executive Committee of the Trade Union to coordinate with the heads of agencies and units to effectively implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulations. After the Congress, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Trade Union for the 5th term need to quickly concretize and develop the entire term program and specific programs and action plans to implement the Resolution of the Congress...

The Congress elected 12 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Gia Lai Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term, Mr. Vo Huu Hai was re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union for the 5th term. The Congress elected a delegation of 12 people (10 official delegates, 2 alternate delegates) to attend the upcoming 11th Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union Congress.
