The Cannes Film Festival's homepage has just announced the list of films that will be screened and participating in Cannes 2024.
Notably, the film is called The Apprentice - a biographical film about billionaire Donald Trump's journey to the pinnacle of his career decades before he became one of the most notorious tycoons in America and ascended to the presidency in 2017.

The film takes place from the 1970s to the 1980s, when the former president was still a "Wall Street cub", trying to build his fortune through real estate business.
According to the producer's description, the film will delve into the "underworld" of contemporary American politics, with young Donald Trump now trying to climb the ladder of power through a "deal with the devil" with famous lawyer and political advisor Roy Cohn.

Playing the role of young Donald Trump is actor Sebastian Stan, famous to Vietnamese and international audiences for his role as The Winter's Soldier in the Marvel cinematic universe.
At first glance, it is hard to imagine whether this handsome actor can play a man with a square face, somewhat old before his age like Mr. Trump.
However, the actor's image with Mr. Trump's "trademark" hairstyle was captured by a photographer while the film crew was traveling through New York to film and he indeed looks quite similar to the former US president when he was young.
Maria Bakalova, the first Bulgarian actress to be nominated for an Oscar, will play Ivana Trump, Trump's first wife.
American actor Martin Donovan was cast as Fred Trump Sr., Trump's father.
The Apprentice is in the opening lineup at this year's Cannes Film Festival, along with Megalopolis - directed by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola; and Kind of Kindness - directed by Yorrgos Lanthimos, who made a splash last year with Poor Things.
What's interesting about the movie's name is that it's also the name of the reality TV show The Apprentice that ran from 2004 until Trump became president.
The show is where contestants will overcome challenges to have the opportunity to work under billionaire Donald Trump.
