Mr. Huynh Van Thanh in Cai San Vam hamlet, Bien Bach Dong commune (Thoi Binh, Ca Mau) was born in 1966, joined to help Cambodia in early 1984, and completed his duty at the end of 1987, discharged from the army and returned to his homeland.
He got married and lived in the alum land of Bien Bach Dong commune, at that time life was lacking. His family was near-poor, he was always aware and tried to overcome difficulties to rise from a few hectares of land for production. In addition to raising livestock and growing crops, he also did other jobs to increase his income. Then when he converted crops and livestock, with the encouragement of the Veterans Association, he boldly implemented a model of many trees and many animals, which did not require a large area and had low investment costs. From there, his family gradually developed and rose out of poverty.
Thanks to being trained in the military environment, with the will to rise up, although his health was impaired by his disability, Mr. Thanh was not afraid of difficulties and hardships. He never had the mindset of waiting for or relying on the State's policies and regimes, but rather striving to rise up. He flexibly applied scientific and technical advances to production, so the family's model of raising tilapia combined with raising frogs and raising snakehead fish achieved high productivity and output.
