According to information from the Department of Planning and Investment of Ca Mau province, from the beginning of 2024 until now, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, Ca Mau's economy has shown optimistic growth and many positive signs.

Specifically, the Industrial Production Index in October 2024 increased by 9.7% compared to September, and the overall increase for the first 10 months was 6.2% compared to the same period in 2023. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in October reached VND 9,934 billion; for the first 10 months, it reached VND 90,063 billion, exceeding the plan by 3.2% and increasing by 20.3% compared to the same period in 2023.

Export turnover in the first 10 months of 2024 reached over US$1.079 billion, an increase of 9.9% compared to the same period; of which, seafood exports reached US$968.04 million (an increase of 12.2%); fertilizer exports reached over US$101 million.

Regarding the disbursement of public investment in 2024 (including funds carried over from 2023), as of October 28, 2024, Ca Mau had disbursed 2,554 billion VND, equivalent to 48.8% of the planned capital.

In the past 10 months, the province has issued 461 business registration certificates with a total registered capital of VND 2,897.3 billion. Notably, the rate of business registration applications submitted online reached 100% of the total number of applications received.

Besides newly established businesses, there were also 107 businesses dissolved and 311 businesses temporarily suspending operations. The total number of businesses in the province is 5,305, with a total registered capital of 64,570.6 billion VND.

Regarding investment attraction, from the beginning of the year to November 20th, the province granted certificates to 13 new investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 2,358.5 billion. To date, there are 459 active investment projects in the province, with a total registered capital of VND 146,700.5 billion (including 11 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 163.5 million).

Ca Mau has 5 wind power projects (total capacity 170 MW) that are already in commercial operation. In addition, 14 wind power projects with a total capacity of 800 MW have received investment approval (of which 170 MW are already in commercial operation); and 2 wind power projects with a total capacity of 200 MW have been proposed by investors, and the Provincial People's Committee is currently seeking opinions from relevant ministries and agencies as a basis for approving the investment policy according to regulations.

For the remainder of the year, to boost economic development, Ca Mau will implement effective credit growth solutions, directing credit towards production and business sectors, priority areas, and strengths of the province; and intensify the organization of bank-business connection conferences in various forms...

The province will continue to improve the investment and business environment, creating favorable conditions for businesses; attracting investment in breakthrough projects and key projects in the province; and accelerating the implementation of the Project on Improving the Investment and Business Environment and Enhancing Provincial Competitiveness for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

At the same time, actively and effectively implement solutions to improve the scores and rankings of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the Provincial Green Index (PGI); and strengthen support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the province.

In addition, the province will monitor the supply and demand of essential goods, ensuring sufficient supply and stable prices; actively participate in the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign; promote the distribution of goods through digital platforms and e-commerce; boost exports of key products with competitive advantages to large, potential markets; and continue to monitor, inspect, and supervise the implementation of wind and solar power projects in the area.

Ca Mau is determined to accelerate the implementation of the Plan to implement Resolution No. 58/NQ-CP dated April 21, 2023 of the Government on a number of key policies and solutions to support businesses in proactively adapting, recovering quickly and developing sustainably until 2025; and to effectively implement the activities of the Special Task Force to remove difficulties and obstacles and support businesses, investors, and investment projects in Ca Mau province.

In addition, the province is focusing on addressing shortcomings and limitations in the fight against illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in preparation for the 5th inspection by the European Commission (EC).
