Providing more information about the results of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that many difficulties and obstacles in socio-economic development were resolved at the last session, especially issues in public investment. The National Assembly also passed many important policies, typically: Eliminating administrative boundaries in health insurance examination and treatment; Approving the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway; Continuing to implement the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project; Adjusting the national land use planning for the 2021-2030 period; Reducing 2% of value added tax rate in the first 6 months of 2025.

The Prime Minister also informed about the guiding spirit of Resolution 18, focusing on innovation, streamlining the political apparatus to be more compact, effective and efficient. The Government pays special attention to improving the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees along with policies to ensure their legitimate interests.

The Prime Minister shared that in the first 11 months of the year, the socio-economic situation achieved many positive results: GDP for the whole year is expected to increase by more than 7%, exceeding the set target. Inflation is controlled, the macro-economy is stable, major balances are ensured and surplus is high.

The Government has set a GDP growth target of about 8% in 2025, requiring all levels, sectors and localities to make stronger efforts. To achieve this target, it is necessary to promote the development of traditional growth drivers (investment, export, consumption) and exploit new drivers such as digital transformation, green transformation, development of emerging economic sectors, and new development spaces.

At the same time, the Prime Minister proposed focusing on building strategic transport infrastructure with the goal of completing 3,000 km of highways and 1,000 km of coastal roads by 2025, of which the Mekong Delta region will complete 400-500 km of highways.
