Sangeeta Kaur - Teresa Mai receives second Grammy nomination
This is the second time Sangeeta Kaur - Teresa Mai has received a Grammy nomination.
Three years ago, her album Mythologies with two close friends was also nominated and honored with the 64th Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
This victory made Sangeeta Kaur - Teresa Mai the first Vietnamese-American to win the prestigious Grammy award.
She also received news of her nomination in November, exactly three years ago.
With this nomination, Teresa Mai said she was extremely moved when being announced for the second time, because this is the result of nearly ten years of hard work with Danae Vlasse's songs composed specifically for the voices of her friends Sangeeta Kaur - Teresa Mai and Hila Plitmann.

Returning with the newly nominated album Mythologies II , composer Danaë Xanthe Vlasse - also the author of the album Mythologies - recreated the Greek myth about the sorrow of the snake goddess Medusa, the courage and sacrifice of princess Andromeda and her mother Cassiopeia, the hero Perseus and the return of Odysseus after 20 years away from his homeland Ithaca.
Mythologies II is performed by sopranos Sangeeta Kaur - Teresa Mai and Hila Plitmann. Also featured are tenor Omar Najmi and pianist Robert Thies (the second American after Van Cliburn to win the prestigious Prokofiev Piano Prize in Russia in 1995).

The results of the 67th Grammy Awards will be announced in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025.
